As mug shots go, that has to be one of the better ones.

Usually they only publish them if they look like total shit (i.e. the infamous Nick Nolte & Glenn Campbell photos.)

Bowie always wore his hair like that during this period. This was in the "Thin White Duke" mid-70's phase, right before he moved to Berlin and started working with Brian Eno.

I think there's a story around here of Bowie doing an interview with some music reporter, and claiming that he's seeing dead people or something. The reporter was quite spooked, and Bowie appeared to be doing occult incantations to protect himself...

Theres a doco on Bowie, where he is being filmed and interviewed
in the back of a cab. He is clearly off his face on coke (I think
its coke ??) If anyone has seen this you will know as he talks
about the only nutrition he has is drinking milk and eating
capsicums (bell peppers)... Its funny coz he keeps jerking
his head around really paranoid like, as if theres some
alien spaceship following the cab !!! lol....

Iggy Pop said him and Bowie moved to Berlin to try and dry out but what they didn't realize is Berlin was the herion capital of Europe at that time and they ended up getting mucho grande fucked there.

What great material sprung forth from that haze..
The old Bowie stuff is other worldly, freakin ace !

Hey was he born with one green eye, one blue eye,

The story I heard is that his eyes really aren't different colors, but the pupil in his left eye was damaged in a fight when he was a teenager.

Apparently some friend of his got jealous (over a chick, of course) and punched Bowie in the eye while wearing a ring. They managed to save the eye with surgery, but the pupil has never functioned at 100% since. If you look at that video, even the freeze frame from it, (or even in the mugshot) you can see that his eyes aren't equally dilated. And the seemingly different colors come from the variance in the light reflected from the two eyes.

Or something like that....
