Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

"Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids.

"We are talking about little kids who do not understand that "ho, ho, ho" has any other connotation and nor should they," she told the Telegraph.

"Leave Santa alone."

And now that I'm an adult, with kids of my own, Santa's last magic trick is to make ME be Santa Claus to all of my kids, EVERY YEAR.

That surpirse me. I've never met a Muslim or any other non-Christan group that complains about Xmas or any other rite/festival that we have. It's generally people who work in Human Resources or on Councils who are creating "imaginary" offences - just like this crap about Santa.

I don't know exactly where you live in Europe but I know that France had solved these issues a while ago.

It's not Santa himself that they're after, it's what he represents. Tradition. Some of those who are not eaven Christian do celebrate X-Mas and had made it their tradition as well. Some don't celebrate X-Mas but can live a healthy life surrounded by X-Mas paraphinelia. And "some" don't celebrate X-Mas and get offended by EVERYTHING that's got to do with it. Not only get offended but protest against every public display of it.

Last year, we "had to" put down the gigantesque X-Mas tree that had been decorating our city hall for decades. The "offense" was not the tree itself (this country is entirely made of pine trees) nor the couple guarlands in it, again, it was about tradition.

Unfortunaltely, Santa is not safe EVERYWHERE...

Was it actually immigrants complaining about the tree though? Or was it somebody in the Council/ Civic authorities IMAGINNING that certain parts of the community may be offended?

We had a similar thing in the UK a couple of years ago where in one city (I forget which one) Xmas had to be referred to as "Winterville" - that just makes me laugh....

I remember doing some research on the M1 Abrahms tank and the A10 Warthog and when i read both used depleted uranium rounds I thought that was strange because uranium was radioactive and not exactly the stuff you want to vaporize. Of ALL the women that I know (and I know many)... I swear... NONE of them is the slightliest bit attracted into Chinese men and Asian men in general (except for some Japanese, of course).
