I absolutely cannot stand Dane Cook. If that guy makes another shitty movie (with the exception of Dan in Real Life, in which he wasn't too funny in for the record) I will officially not like comedy anymore.

I am a huge comedy fan and enjoy the edgy alternative comedy stylings of Patton Oswalt, Eugene Mirman, Zach Galifianakis, and Louis CK.

Dane Cook should be exiled.

I just don't understand how America could give him a rockstar like status while they are being entertained by a lot of movement, a lot of word-making-up, and a lot of line repeating.

The guy is getting paid 50-100 dollars a ticket to sell out arenas, which a comedian hasn't done in a long time. This is not a bad thing for a comedian, but the comedian isn't worth the price of admission. If Bill Hicks were alive I'd pay 100 to see that. George Carlin is worth it. Hell if Mitch Hedburg was alive I think I'd pay at least 50 to see him.

"Good Luck Chuck" has an abysmal 3% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and don't even get me started on Mr. Brooks.

I recently went to the Comedians of Comedy tour in NYC and saw 7 comedians for 25 bucks. I laughed more that night in an hour and a half than I would with all of the Dane Cook material you could throw at me.

This is a perfect example of Dane Cook:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nBcAiCiKYtk&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nBcAiCiKYtk&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

And finally I hate the sufi. If you don't know what it is, Google dane cook sufi on images and prepare to have your mind blown.

I would just like to know if anyone agrees with Dane Cook's popularity? I can't grasp how people are lovin the smell of his crap. He once had a line to describe his comedy. "If you like ______, then you'll like me".

If you like hip quotable bullshit, then you'll like me.

Please, Army, back me up on this. Make me feel like I AM sane. If not, I might as well jump on the bandwagon and then jump off of the bandwagon into a pool of acid.

Dane Cook is funny because he's coked out of his fucking mind when he's doing comedy.

He'd have to tell me that himself for me not to believe it.

But I'll take Eddie Izzard over Dane Cook ANYDAY!

This is funny shit...Dane looking a bit like a young Chevy Chase.

Dane on "Merry Fucking Christmas" and "Oprah"

He's a highly intelligent, extremely funny, drag queen

Hence the heels and eyeliner.

[notice I didnt bite, and make a Maxi joke] ;)

I was just wondering if it was part of an earlier joke or if it were his real look.

Trying not to generalize, but, "drag queens" (not those dressing like them, making fun of them) are some of the coolest people I have ever met. I was just wondering if he was for real, he looks comfy with it...so I had to ask.

Anyway, I think he is funny too and will look for more of him.

Like 5 years ago he was on a tour with Harlan Williams and some people as the opening act, after awhile he started steal Harlan Williams stuff, so they threw him off the tour

Sam Kinison was funny as hell. I'll never forget the first time I saw his stand up, I was pissing myself.

RIP. :(

And Kinison couldn't hold a candle to either George Carlin or Richard Pryor.

As far as females go, I used to like Ellen DeGeneres until; she became "Ellen". Her stand up from years ago was good.

I saw this comedienne Wendy Liebman who was funny as hell. This is a quickie of her.

but richard pryor could definitely hold a candle to himself!

and i heard somebody say that God was making the "trading places" bet using comedians: let's see if i can take the greatest comedian around and make him batshit crazy, while at the same time take some unfunny schmuck and make him the most popular comic in the nation. dave chappelle, say hello to dane cook...

.

I loved his story about his freebase blowup.

I was drinking some whole milk, but ran out of it, so I filled the glass up with some 2%, and when I dipped the cookie in it, the whole thing blew up. :D

Jo Jo Dancer was a great flick.

i first found richard pryor in "brewsters millions," and "the toy." hilarious as a kid, still funny now.

but when i found non-PG pryor, i think first in "sunset strip," well, whole different story. that guy WAS stand-up...

shhesh

And fucking brilliant. He's the next comedy legend. If you haven't tried him start with Glorious or Dress To Kill - then work your way out to the other 4 cd's (Unrepeatable, Definite Article, Sexie, and Live at the Ambassadors)

He was in Oceans 12 & 13 as well as the t.v. series The Riches. Plus he's been the best part of a lot of awful movies.

Cook doesn't have a principal role, but get the movie "Waiting" with Ryan Reynolds!

Fuckin hilarious!!!

Cook's stand-up doesn't register much with me either - like some hip-hop, I'll never comprehend the attraction...

Rich was god.... & the Diceman in his heyday had some novel material... though now he's playing 200 seaters in bumfuck...

Ever get the chance, check out Bobby Slayton, who now has a permanent gig at Hooter's casino in Vegas... I've seen him about 20 times & have never left a show without being in major pain from laughing my fuckin ass off!!!

And the best part about these guys is that they can come up with anything on the spot better than any comedians out there.

They play indie rock clubs and if you ask me that is the PERFECT venue for a comedy show. It seems more private, more personal.

"My brother has ADD, but the weird thing about him is he drives a Ford Focus... I told my brother that joke, but he didn't laugh because he was distracted by a squirrel."

"That show the Amazing Race... Is that about white people?"

Heard the buzz about Cook for a good year or so before finally hearing his act; my old lady scooped up some cd of his...

Some of his stuff was funny, but I don't quite understand why he has attained such a superstar status. Then again, I never quite understood how Andrew "Dice" Clay (who I also thought was funny) wound up selling out Madison Square Garden back in the early 1990s, either.
