Mine is on the way.

Just want to know what you think of it.

Not yet.

Supposed to hit the stores on 12/18/07, last I checked.

Have been looking forward to it for quite a while...several years, in fact.

Well, it was supposed to be the 12th here but Play sent mine last Wednesday.

I was hoping it would come today but it didn`t.

The 5 disc edition was only £17.99 (about $35).

Bring it on.

The picture quality is suberb, maybe the best I`ve ever seen on a DVD.

And the packaging is amazing for the price.

This is the greatest DVD release ever in terms of price and content.

I hope George Lucas is paying attention for when he brings out the ten disc "Star Wars" anthology.

That's a good price, least from what I've seen; the 5-disc edition retail price I've seen qouted for Stateside was around $80.

Am assuming the 5-disc set we're talking about is the one where disc 5 has the Workprint material (which is what I'm really interested in), and the rest of the set also has the original US theatrical cut, the original international theatrical cut, the revised director's cut and all the rest...unsure if the 1982 Denver and Dallas Sneak Preview Cuts were supposed to be included as well...

Yup, five versions.

The new final cut, the original US theatrical release, the international theatrical release (with additional violent scenes cut from the US version), the `92 Directors cut and the workprint version.

Add to that an all new 3&1/2 hour documentary and an additional disc with contemporary documentaries and trailers.

It fuckin` rules.

By the way, the final cut contains NO voice over at all.

I actually like the voiceover, myself.

Was mildly pissed off for a time after the Director's Cut came out, because my original US Theatrical Cut VHS and Original International Cut VHS tapes shit the bed, and I basically had to track down said items on VHS format (both of which I could only find in pan and scan mode), then transfer them over to dvd. All of which I did only because a) by the mid 1990s, the only thing you could find in stores was the Director's Cut, and b) it didn't look like this current Blade Runner release was actually gonna be CREATED, along with Ridley Scott making general noises in interviews that if it did come to pass, all he was gonna do was tweak the Director's Cut, since to him that was the only version of the film that mattered.

Am very psyched to see the workprint stuff!

Is the workprint version worth paying 3x for the set?

One more DVD for the Santa bag... :D

Well, I watched the workprint version last night and, apart from some different music in the second half, there ain`t a lot of difference from the normal movie.

A lot of scenes that were cut do appear in the documentaries (along with some facinating storyboards of unfilmed scenes) but unfortunately they haven`t been integrated into any version of the film.

I still not disappointed, though.

Great news! I'm just learning about this reissue, and I think I'll get it in Geneva (in Switzerland, gasoline, tobacco, records, hi-fi computers, records and DVDs are cheaper).

Rutger Hauer's dying scene is worth seeing "Blade Runner" by itself, and anyway the whole movie is a fucking Masterpiece!

Got it for my dad for christmas...I'll admit, I don't really like the movie, but the package is worth getting for that price whether you like it or not.

So far I've only seen a 2 DVD version.

I'm gonna wait.

The deleted/alternate scenes is by far the most interesting thing on it.

They`ve all been edited together to make a mini movie that lasts roughly an hour.

It fleshes the plot out more.

I dunno, maybe the 8 DVD box has a version with that stuff mixed into the film?

I bought it today... (for nearly 50$)

Haven't had the time to check it out yet.

I still haven't bought it 'cause I'm trying to find one with subtitles in Portuguese.

However, if I DO find one, it'll probably double the price...

Maybe I'll just buy the tin from Amazon UK.

Cheers! :bottle:

It's a grate set.

Just one little detail bothers me. Crap Finnish subtitles.
How does someone turn "a four year lifespan" into "a four year lifespan adjuster"?

I'm cuntfused....

It's a pretty good set. Went to Best Buy and only saw the 2 and 4 disc sets on display, so went and asked someone where the 5 disc set was. There were only two of those left, so I snagged one.

Didn't really have much use for the little spinner model, tinfoil unicorn, or film print, and the case it came in is a bit gay.

As for the discs themselves, the one I probably enjoyed the best was the Dangerous Days documentary. I'll agree the workprint wasn't much different from all the other versions.

It's really just useful to have the US Theatrical, International Theatrical and Director's Cuts all together in widescreen, along with all the outtakes and other previously unseen footage. Really not all that interested in the "final cut".

It'd have been cool to have just assembled all the footage into one disc, including the Holden hospital scenes, the shots of Dekard running on top of the vehicles, the extended shots of Deckard and Rachel screwing, etc.

I'm pretty happy with it.
