Suspect in high-profile kidnapping arrested after Tucson standoff

TUCSON- A suspect in a high-profile kidnapping case in Tucson is in custody after a standoff with police at a Tucson home.
Tucson police spokesman Sgt. Mark Robinson says Robert Ergonis was arrested early Friday after holing up overnight and refusing to surrender to police.
The 45-year-old Ergonis was sought in connection with the alleged abduction of a former beauty queen's ex-boyfriend.
Kumari Fulbright, who won beauty contests in Tucson in 2005 and 2006, is accused of kidnapping, holding and torturing an ex-boyfriend at gunpoint and knifepoint with the help of Ergonis and two other men. She is now free on $50,000 bail.

9:53 AMThis whole fiasco is just plain weird.
Beauty pageant winners, kidnapping, extortion.
I think these tweaked out, spun out dopers watched to much television, and wanted to add an element of drama to their lives. Posing as hard-core badasses.
