The couple of new songs they put out a few years back with the live cd were quite good I thought.

I'm hoping it'll be a killer, and hopefully a return to the early days. Always loved Coverdale's voice....

Indeed, and a cool guy. Had the honor of teching for him at a one-night/one-off kinda thing.
Totally cool dude, and had one of (if not) THE best-sounding (modifiied) Marshalls I have ever heard. :killer:

Yeah, I think that's a tour to miss. The thought of seeing Def Leppard is too painful....

They played the Time Out in Concord.

My friend is the guitarist in an instrumental band called Points North.

He's a really good guitarist, check them out sometime. We were in a band together for about 7 years. We also still occasionaly perform together with a couple of other friends under the name Squalor, although it's been about a year now and only happens when he's out here for work and the stars align.

Reb Beach is a great lead player. Why do they need two? I don't recall hearing twin solos

Reb's very good, but Aldrich makes him look ordinary by comparison.
Whitesnake always WAS a two-guitar band even in the early days....
but once you've got a John Sykes (ala the 'Whitesnake" album) or Doug Aldrich in the band,
any other guitar player is gonna be second banana by default...

This is going to be very radio friendly.

"Best Years" is an Allman Bros. inspired song.

Coverdale hasn't missed a step.

I've listened to this for about 3 days now and the tracks I like are:

Call On Me
Best Years
Summer Rain - good slower song with a GNR inspired solo.
Lay Down Your Love - Zep/Aerosmith rockin' tune
A Fool In Love - Sounds more like Great White then Whitesnake, but I likes it!

Lookin' forward to The Raconteurs newest now!

Dont ya hate it when you click on a thread and the concert
has already passed yout town :(

I take the piss out of Robert Coverplant, but I dont mind some
of the whitesnake stuff.. And David Coverdale does have
a great voice..

I have missed so many cool gigs this year, I'm totally pissed
off..

I need a personal Sydney metal gig arranger...
