Cause your gonna get it!

Don't want it ...too bad Microsoft ends support for XP June 30th 2008.

You can buy or sign up for 5 additional years of support from MS or third party sites will carry support like when they ended support on 98.

Don't want Explorer 7 well it's Windowns Vistas Internet software.

So you may as well start reading up cause within a year or so you XP will start to mysteryously..... acting funny... you will be in need of........ -Vista- ....if you know what I mean?

Kind of them to set up internet help(bitch) sites...?

Make your computer dual-boot Vista and XP

By Scott Dunn

It's getting harder to buy a new computer with Windows XP installed and — after Microsoft stops selling XP on June 30, 2008 — it will become nearly impossible.

Fortunately, you can have your XP cake and eat your Vista, too, by setting up your system to boot between the two operating systems.

Add an XP option to your new Vista system

If a new computer arrived in your recent past, or you plan to buy one in the near future, chances are it will come with Windows Vista installed. Although some manufacturers still give you the option of getting XP on your new system, that option is likely to dry up for most consumers later this year when Microsoft stops selling Windows XP.

If you're not ready to dive into Vista all at ....etc

That movie was "The Graduate"

and he didn't say "buy"

It was about a career move, not stocks.

If you're going to make a pop culture reference, get it right trailer boy.

And they're stopping the sales of it, not the support. Big difference.

I was gonna say, XP is not old enough yet for MS to drop
support. I think theres something in place where they have to
support each OS for ten years ??

Remember they only stopped suppport for 98 last year.
And from memory didnt 98 come out in 97 ???

I got a free Vista upgrade with my new computer 12 months ago I loaded Vista (due to all the worry but i said it was time) two weeks ago and I like it ,it is new interesting, and I like a challenge.

I have been running IE-7 for two years on my existing XP software.

Never had a issue with IE 7 and I like the tab function on display of home pages when multitasking complicated pron sites.lol

When I loaded the Vista upgrade it took 2.5 hrs approximately.

Includes dumping all my trash and CD/ DVD recording what I wanted to save.

I portioned my harddisk to handle all my porn! but I digress...

(warning I forgot to do that the first time and had to reload and it was a additional 1.5 hrs work.)

I couldn't get to FDISK and couldn't work DISKPART so I reloaded and was prompted again at the start of the upgrade.

Within the boot of Vista the upgrade...it left XP on the disk and prompts me each time I turn on the computer and asks if I want to continue loading Vista or if I would like to use the older vertion of XP still on my computer...

So all I am saying is it is ok just different folder options and such.... no big deal.

It will be a Vista world and sooner than you think so... i'm just sayin...

PS. any other than microsoft system is fine for solo use...... if you need to be on a huge or even small network Microsoft talks better and is the way the world is.

Do you have experience with anything other than Microsoft?

The internet would not even be the same without Linux's networking abilities.

Yes I have MAC experience.

It is great for creative applications but everyone everywhere has MS(PC) and talking between computers is best and easiest with MS .

Most MAC is converted to XP /Visual Basic/PC? WTF ever,(...a little -bit- too many over my head).. before put into practical use.

From a small or large offiice type application, I am not saying MS is a
overly huge god of all buisiness, but it is.

Most people/companies use WORD, PowerPoint ,Outlook, little else , not much else
Microsoft owns that world and was smart to go in that direction it is all most people use or need.

I doubt that will change.

Most of the creative people I know have Mac and they work in Mac then they have to convert that to PC ,because of the end user.

I really do not know of much of anything that cannot be done in PC that is being done in Mac.

Sometimes I think it is just a personal issue with the user.

I recently purchased a small form factor Acer
P4 3 Ghz PC with 1 gig of RAM, with Vista preinstalled.
My main PC I use is running XP Pro with 512k ram
and a 1 Ghz CPU...

Well.......
This fucking new PC was as slow as shit, I got sick of watching
that rotating mouse cursor thingy very quickly..

Ended up reformatting the drive and loading XP.
Now it runs like a supersonic jet fighter !

Blows my main PC away, so friggin quick..

Conclusion

VISTA = Excessive bloat

Im not rushing to it yet.

Besides, you are aware that MS are already working on
Vista's successor..

I would love to see Linux take over.

If the developement applications I used were available
for linux I would have ditched Windows years ago.

Hey I was actually at the official launch of Win95
in Sydney. It was held at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

All these industry dudes were there to see it..

They were in the middle of the demo (which was hooked
to a big overhead projector) and explaining how bulletproof
this new OS was, and then almost on cue
"THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH"

They ended up having to hard power the PC off..

Everyone at that gathering then stood as one and
you have never heard so much cheering !!! LOL :D

It was like, *SEE !!!!!* thats the shit we have to put
up with all the time !!! hehehehheh

Good day actually, free beer aand food, and an
Australian rules football game...

But major embarrasment for MS. Made the news
that night, lots of bad press..
