Best Clod/Flue Medecine

Now this is flue season here, in the great land of the ice and snow.

We have a very good old receipe that will not cure but make you stop caughing and sniffling all night;

It's called "La Ponce de Gin"... An old French Canadian remede.

In a big mug, poor 2 (or more) shots of Gin
Squeeze in 2 fresh lemons
Add 2 table spoons of honey
Fill up the rest of the mug with water and warm up the whole thing(microwave is fine).
Drink as fast and as hot as you can tolerate.



Last week, my husband was sick with the flue and I told him to go to bed early as I prepared a "Ponce de Gin" for him.
I put in 4 shots of gin (he can take it), but he thought I'd put only 2.

After finishing it, he went "Woooo... That was strong! Or it might be because of that medecine I just took (with codeine in it)"...

Then I told him that he was given lots of warmed up alchool on top of the grugs he took but he was too smashed to care and fell asleep in a second.

As a punishment, I had to hear him snor like a chainsaw all night and in the morning, he woke up late for work.


La Ponce de Gin is great... Try it when you are sick but DO NOT mix with any medecine! (Unless you are into that kind of cocktail...)

I'll try out that receipe if I get a clod or the flue this year. I'm not really big on taking medecine (or grugs in general), but hopefully this will help me to not caugh or snor so much. Thanks for the remede!

The lemon takes over and with the honey... I'd say it's pretty good!
Plus, the lemon helps cleaning out your throat, if it's soared...

Than you can skip the honey... The purpose of it is to make the whole thing smoother.
The importance is the warming up of the booze and the lemon.

She said that unless you put in at least 4 ounces of Gin, it won't work.
