The BBC News program for it is 7 and a half hours long.

CNN's is 16 and a half.

The only way to sensibly fill programs that long is if he gets shot.

I marched in Clinton's first inauguration as I helped with some of the many organizations and high school bands that love this sort of thing. I even saw Al Gore's old school Cadi limousine close up as everything was done and we military kids were enjoying a beer outside late on the occasion...

I'm glad today is over. I've been elbow-deep in Obama lessons and activities for the last month planning for the special inauguration celebration with the kids. Add the second coming of Christ treatment from the media and it was overload for me with no escape.

My favorite part of my day was at assembly when the one faculty member read a poem she wrote about how the white man was the devil and how Obama was going to save the soul of the country because he is a 100&#37; real black man (um...white maternal family). And then listening to the parents talk about how they refuse to vote ever because it's all white men and that they only voted for him because he was black.

I'm not going to slam the guy. He's president and he deserves the respect of the office. I am, tho, getting tired of people bringing up Dr King after saying such doozies about voting for him only because he's black and then quoting about how one day we won't judge based on skin color but on character of the man.

Small hypocritical stuff done by the people around me is getting to me on today -- but small beans on the global scale. I really just needed to vent.

I'm just burnt out after today. The craziness of the programming today that you commented on -- well, that's been going on for a little over a month for me. The school I work in planned a whole Obama day. So it's been Obama all the time at work, writing lessons across grade levels, and then come home the last week to nothing but Obama all over the news. There was no escape. After a while, you get ready to move on to the next thing.

Ramzi Yousef's full sentence -- life in prison plus 240 years -- follows two separate New York trials.

"Mr. Yousef, you are a virus that must be locked away," said U.S. District Judge Kevin Duffy, who read a passage from the Koran, the holy writings of the Islamic faith.

The judge said Yousef claimed to be a Muslim fundamentalist but actually cared nothing for the religion. Instead, he said, Yousef adored "the cult of death."

"You adored not Allah but the evil you had become. I must say as an apostle of evil, you have been most effective," Duffy said. "You just wanted to kill for the thrill of killing human beings."

Before sentencing, Yousef made a rambling, 17-minute statement in which he said, "Yes, I am a terrorist and proud of it as long as it is against the U.S. government."

Six people were killed in the February 26, 1993, bombing of the twin towers in lower Manhattan. The December 1994 bombing of a Philippines Airline flight killed a Japanese passenger.

Yousef was convicted of the airliner bombing in an earlier trial.

They're building it -- surely and slowly. It's suppose to be done around 2011, but I don't see how seeing that they're going the speed of smell. The huge train station hub that they made (and dug up those sacred footprints you hear so much about) has been there for many years now. Other than that, it's a huge, empty, construction site that people visit.

Personally, I always thought that if they weren't going to build office space back that they should have made a simple, humble, museum about the history and significance of the towers and downtown. It would be a great addition to the area because there's so much history of different aspects right in one spot. There's so much land that there could have been little models of downtown throughout the years. But whatever -- we'll have our tower whenever they finish it.

Right now, I'm cleaning my slate of my political views and waiting to see what happens. I'm hoping that what history has shown us about presidents who enter into the beginning of a rough economic situation doesn't happen. Because if it does, than the hope of other non-white males getting an opportunity might vanish.

And, in ways, I'm glad Palin got the VP nod. That, and (and deffy not of lesser importance) Hillary fighting for the Democratic prez nomination has helped place women into consideration as part of this process. We hadn't had a female in any sort role since Geraldine back in early 80-something. We can say whatever we want about their politics or how they polarized voters, or other nonsense that doesn't matter at this junction. The point is that they were apart of this huge story. Their faces were out there and, hopefully, others can join.

So, my hope in all of this is that Obama has somesort of success so that this door can stay open. I'm looking big picture. That, and I'll admit -- I think it would be awesome to have a black female president.

There were many times with McCain's team, as well as when Giuliani was going for the nom, that I wondered what the hell was going on. It was as if they were trying to screw up on purpose.

McCain went from being the chill "cool" Republican on the Daily Show to this stiff, boring,unattached canidate. I could understand a toned-down version when he was trying to win over his own party, but when he went national I was waiting for the McCain we would see joking with Stewart to come back. He might have had a bit more fight if he did. I don't think he would have won because the buzz surrounding Obama was too high, but it could have at least been a respectable fight. Instead, they focused on holding the farther out conservatives, who -- let's be honest -- weren't going to vote for Obama or Ron Paul or a write-in. They would vote party line because it's what those fringers do. And they would have voted because they're hardasses like that.

Getting Palin on board as VP stole hella wind from Bidens' sails running as whiteman VP to the Half-honkey. And I think it was a cheap ploy because on one hand you pander to the preformed opinion of all women thinking we should let the Ladies have one of their own in, which straddles the voting bloc of all women - or half of all americans, not just the 30 percent population classified as Black.

Women tend to vote emotionally but along party lines, so it would be interesting to see if Palin's addition resulted in any voter attrition along the lines of black females.
