Meditation works for some folks, as does merely breaking a daily routine that has become a rut. Trying new things, be it music, a book, an activity, hell anything that presents a new challenge can work as well, as you'll find your energy focused in a positive way in an unfamiliar manner.

Then again, when I feel the way you described, I simply drink more and watch tv. After all, it's always worked in the past, and episodic tv is great! :guzzle:

When I feel the way you do, I put on some heavy metal in my I Pod and run... And I run, run as fast as I can and for at least 30 mins.. Outside our on a treadmill. It really works. Or... I drive. In that vein of thought, you might wish to check out the "Weird" series of books by Mark Moran and Mark Scuerman. Each book is devoted to a state of the union, and are creepy as well as downright hilarious. Sadly, the "Weird Florida" edition is a bit off a let down, as they farmed out the work to a local historian who somehow managed to fail to tap the rich amount of oddness this state has to offer.

I would suggest checking out the free trial version of World of Warcraft. I'm not a gamer by any stretch. Atari & Colecovision was about it. But I read an article last year how over 10 million people were subscribers to it. I figured fuck, that many people, something must be cool about it. I checked it out and it's actually extremely fun. Great way to burn a couple of hours. Also, if you choose to, it's fun to converse with a lot of the other players. Surprising to me was how many of them are over 25 years old.

Hell, I haven't played any video games in quite a while due to studying, books, movies and vinyl. Now if you want a really great video game, try "Postal 2." Violent as all hell and you get to fight Gary Coleman! That and Serious Sam is another great game that isn't graphics intensive!

I have a simple solution for that, but it requires maintenance. Just disconnect the clip that connects the plug to the PS2 motherboard and tape it to the frame. He, won't be playing it anytime soon and will think it's a manufacturing defect.
