It was Republican math that made that the case. :(

28 fucking years of it......

Can't discredit the source, so you have to make it a republican thing. C,mon Ford...admit Pelosi is batshit crazy and it's time for her to step aside.

I'm not going to watch it, because I can't stand the sight of her, but....

Let's assume she said "500 million jobs have been lost"

Well hell, wasn't it Chimpy himself who said in a "town hall" how uniquely American it is for us to have 3 jobs each nowadays?

That, is BushMath.

Pelosi's a fucking jellyfish and an AIPAC tool, but that doesn't change the fact that the economic policies of the last 28 years are what has fucked this country, and put millions of people out of work. Even if it ain't 500 million.

Thank you, I know that was hard for you guys (made easier by the required addendum "bush this, bush that").

Yeah, that'd be the start of it.

"Trickle-down economics" ring any bells?

Yeah, that'd be the start of it.

The real start of it was the poorly conceived concept of supply side economics, which was little more than a shell game put into effect during the Reagan years. The "trickle down theory" was merely an offshoot of this house of cards.

And yeah, Reagan inherited the situation from Carter, who was handed it by the end of the Nixon era via Gerald Ford's "oh so bright" win button campaign.

Golly, why didn't the idea of wearing a lapel pin solve everything? http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-ashamed-smileys-721.gif (http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/Free-Ashamed-Smileys/)

How about Republican math?

George Bush + >10,000 Dow + budget surplus = giant fucking deficit and <8,000 Dow

You voted for that, kiddo. Nice to be cocky after being so wrong!

Big Train

Yes Nick....Bush this, Bush that. I only voted for him once, voted Nader in 2000 (and 2008).

Lounge your right, it has been only two weeks. But you guys need to start training yourselves, it's getting repetitive and adds little to the conversation about the present.

Then why don't we at least try something before branding it a failure?

Employment in the construction industry and the improvement of infrastructure would be the perfect meld or short term help for an industry in big trouble and preventing the long term disruptions that decaying bridges and power conduits would bring...

Big Train
02-05-2009, 11:38 AM
Because I simply don't believe a lot of what is in the bill are important right now. Investing in core infrastructure is a huge priority, I don't deny that. I just think getting America competitive is THE priority, in new industries. It's a little more subtle than your making it out to be.

Construction of a new park? No. Construction of a new green power substation or a cellusotic biodiesel plant? Yes.

The difference is it makes us more competitive and gives someone a chance at a career (you know wages, unions) rather than a job for a few weeks.

The bill does not deliver the maximum possible value per dollar for all Americans. All the pet projects need to go. That's just wasting money and time. So why not take a breather, take a few weeks and craft a useful bill?

Nickdfresh
02-05-2009, 11:45 AM
The pet-projects are being purged, and the bill does a good deal to support educational endeavors to diversify the skill set of the unemployed and laid off...certainly just throwing in money isn't going to solve anything, but then again, people unemployed can't buy much either, and we need to increase consumption again...

Although, I think Americans saving more is a GOOD thing...

Big Train

Being called out and purged by the GOP.

Americans saving is half of this equation, I agree 100%.

The loan rates we get, the amount of people living on the edge, never should have happened. The debt to net worth ratio is something like 98% for the avg. american.

Getting America back in shape again requires freedom from foreign power sources and finance.

LMFAO!! The GOP isn't going to stop anything, and even if they did they'll be completely unelectable assholes after having eight years of Bush spunk all over their faces and never even questioning the accelerating spending that got us here...

So, when the Repukes ran roughshod over the Dems for 6 years, passing everything Darth and Chimpy wanted, and spent us into the poor house, was that "anarchy"?

Or was that just politics based upon our Constitution?

They didn't have bras like that when Nancy Pelosi was young. And if she was a model, it probably wasn't for Victoria's Secret, or where ever that picture came from.

Not that it's a bad picture in and of itself, of course....:jizzz:

Upon further review, it seems to be a look-alike model named "Ali."
