BAILOUTS: A COMPLETE FRAUD AGAINST THE AMERICAN WORKER
By Frosty Wooldridge
February 2, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

A recent Associated Press news release exposed U.S. banks accepting billions in bailout money along with major corporations. Banks defraud American taxpayers by hiring thousands of foreign works in place of our citizens.

The report said, “The figures are significant because they show that the bailed-out banks, being kept afloat with U.S. taxpayer money, actively sought to hire foreign workers instead of American workers. As the economic collapse worsened last year with huge numbers of bank employees laid off—the numbers of visas sought by the dozen banks in AP's analysis increased by nearly one-third, from 3,258 in fiscal 2007 to 4,163 in fiscal 2008. The AP reviewed visa applications the banks filed with the Labor Department under the H-1B visa program, which allows temporary employment of foreign workers in specialized-skill and advanced-degree positions.”

With full complicity of our U.S. Congress and former President Bush, “The dozen banks receiving the biggest rescue packages, totaling more than $150 billion, requested visas for more than 21,800 foreign workers over the past six years for positions that included senior vice presidents, corporate lawyers, junior investment analysts and human resources specialists. The average annual salary for those jobs was $90,721.00, nearly twice the median income for all American households.”

Thomas Jefferson said, “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

In the past decade, IT workers suffered displacements from their jobs because billionaire Bill Gates wielded obscene amounts of financial power to push H-1B visa entries to over 1.0 million foreign workers. That’s how many U.S. IT workers watched their jobs vanish in the past 10 years. Additionally, those foreign IT workers send their money home to their countries. Instead of our money circulating throughout the U.S. financial system, it bleeds out of our country.

Overall, cash transfers exceed $80 billion annually to foreign countries. To give you an idea of how much money we lose, Mexico’s reception of U.S. dollars runs $24 billion every year for over 10 years. Other than oil income, Mexico’s second biggest income flows from the cash transfer pipeline.

The Bear-Stearns Report showed that the Mexican and immigrant impact in America makes those workers the second largest underground economy in the world. They bleed the U.S. treasury, and presently, we suffer a $10.3 trillion deficit.

“It is unclear how many foreign workers the banks actually hired; the government does not release those details,” the AP reported. “The actual number is likely a fraction of the 21,800 foreign workers the banks sought to hire because the government limits the number of visas it grants to 85,000 each year among all U.S. employers. During the last three months of 2008, the largest banks that received taxpayer loans announced more than 100,000 layoffs. The number of foreign workers included among those laid off is unknown. Foreigners are attractive hires because companies have found ways to pay them less than American workers.”

By digging further, financial institutions like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac received $85 billion in bailout money, but gave away billions in fraudulent loans to illegal aliens and poor people unable to bring a dime to the home-ownership signing table.

In other words, we endure gross if not obscene corruption at the highest levels in Congress! Yet, we re-elected those scoundrels such as Senator Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi for starters!

When you look at the thousands of employers who hire illegal criminal aliens, you see a pattern of corruption that defies imagination. Not only do the employers undercut and displace American workers, they fail to pay taxes on an estimated 50 percent of the money because they pay under the table.

Every illegal alien employer undermines the U.S. Constitution which provides him/her with a free society, a magnificent life as well as freedom from terror. But when they commit their corruption, they undermine the standard of living and quality of life for our citizens. Every CEO, company president or construction company that hires illegal aliens in place of Americans—or, average citizens that hire illegal criminal aliens—you fuel massive corruption.

For guys like Bill Gates, you cheat your fellow Americans. For the head of McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other fast food giants, your hiring illegal aliens steals jobs from our working poor. You CEO’s at Tyson, Hormel, Swift, and Amour make me sick with your corruption. You head-honchos at Target, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s and Home Depot create 15 million unemployed American workers by selling $700 billion a year in products made from India, China, Mexico—seldom do we see anything “Made in America” today.

And you, U.S. House reps and Senators, you make me sick most of all because you instigate such monumental fraud against U.S. workers.

As a final note, let it be known that corruption becomes a ‘mechanism’ or paradigm that operates in third world countries stemming from a well-entrenched power elite. Once in power, they crush the middle and lower classes into perpetual poverty.

While we immigrate 2.4 million third world migrants into our country annually to take our citizens’ jobs and we create more unemployed by allowing 20 to 30 million illegal criminal aliens—our middle class falters into a new poverty.

Today, we face devolution of America’s middle class at the hands of our own leaders, corporations and new ruling elite.

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 - 2005

NEW REPORT: U.S. INFRASTRUCTURE OVERWHELMED BY INFLUX OF IMMIGRANTS

By Frosty Wooldridge
January 15, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

On January 13, 2009, at the National Press Club, Washington, DC, the true costs of unending illegal and legal migration into the United States scorch the pocketbooks of all American citizens.

A new report by famed researcher Edwin Rubenstein exposed the costs of unending migration into the U.S. at: “$1.6 Trillion Needed to Repair and Maintain Nation's Hospitals, Schools, Parks, Water Supply, Bridges, and Basic Infrastructures.”

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XyTmClBU7nA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XyTmClBU7nA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

“Immigration policies need to go hand-in-hand with decisions to repair the deteriorating U.S. infrastructure, according to a unique new report released on January 13, 2009,” a spokesperson said.

The Twin Crises: Immigration and Infrastructure," by researcher Edwin S. Rubenstein, was released by the Social Contract Press on January 13 at a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

“Immigration will be responsible for more than 80 percent of the spending needed to expand infrastructure capability between now and mid-century, according to the report. Ed Rubenstein examines 15 categories of infrastructure: airports, border security, bridges, dams and levees, electricity (the power grids), hazardous waste removal, hospitals, mass transit, parks and recreation facilities, ports and navigable waterways, public schools, railroads, roads and highways, solid waste and trash, and water and sewer systems,” reported Fran Griffin of Griffin Communications. “The American Society of Civil Engineers estimates that $1.6 trillion dollars is needed to repair and maintain U.S. infrastructure in next 5 years. The massive influx of immigrants into the U.S. is increasing the demands on an overburdened infrastructure, much of which was built shortly after World War II and is outdated and deteriorating.”

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9PpaoZE8oXk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9PpaoZE8oXk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Edwin S. Rubenstein, a financial analyst and economics journalist, worked as an editor for Forbes Magazine and economics editor of National Review. He also served as a senior economist for W. R. Grace & Company, where he directed studies on waste and inefficiency in the federal government for the Grace Commission. He became an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute and research director of the Hudson Institute. The author of two books, The Right Data (1994) and From Empire State to the Vampire State: New York in a Downward Transition, he has been published in The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, the Harvard Business Review, and The New York Times.

"If the infrastructure crisis could be fixed by spending money, there would be no crisis," Mr. Rubenstein explained. "Since 1987, capital spending on transportation infrastructure has increased by 2.1 percent per year above the inflation rate. At $233 billion (2004 dollars), infrastructure is already one of the largest categories of government spending. Our infrastructure is 'crumbling' because population growth has overwhelmed the ability of even these vast sums to expand capacity.

"The immigration debate needs to be framed in terms of resource depletion, declining infrastructure, and simple fairness," Ed Rubenstein stated. "Population growth requires additional capacity and increases the rate of depreciation of the existing infrastructure. Immigration policy must play a role in making decisions about U.S. infrastructure."

"The Twin Crises: Immigration and Infrastructure" report was released at a News Conference at 1 p.m. on January 13 in the Lisagor Room of the National Press Club, 529 14th St., N.W., in Washington, D.C. Advance copies of the report were available for review by working journalists.

In order to fully understand the dire consequences accelerating at the hands of mass legal and illegal immigration, another report by the Heritage Foundation, led by Robert Rector, illustrates further consequences of mass immigration. If the Obama administration passes an amnesty for the minimum estimated 20 million illegal aliens within the USA, the price tag starts at $3 trillion to legalize them. If criminal aliens within the U.S. actually number 30 million as some reports estimate, the price tag rises to $5 trillion.

Do you think Obama understands his and our predicament of sheer hyper-population overload? Answer: no! Obama voted to DOUBLE legal immigration from 1.2 million annually to 2.4 million annually as to S.B.1639 in June 2007 as a U.S. Senator.

Beyond that, “U.S. Population Projections” by Fogel/Martin, March 2006, show immigration driving the United States to an unprecedented additional 100 million people by 2035. Out of that mind-numbing number, 70 million will be third world immigrants—right out of the entrenched cultures of endless poverty—sure to create a whole new meaning of poverty in the USA: “Systemic Poverty.” In other words, we cannot and will not solve it. It will become a part of our culture, much like Mexico or India.

I don’t know about you, but those figures terrify the daylights out of me! Why? I witnessed what ‘they’ look like in my world travels. In a few words: depressing and devastating!

In order to stop the coming amnesty attempt, your best weapons remain education and collective action. I urge you to join www.numbersusa.com approaching 1 million like-minded members, and the other websites I promote below this column. Those web sites empower you to take action. And if you do only one thing, watch Roy Beck’s “Immigration by the Numbers” on the web site and pass it to all your friends. That 14 minute video provides you with all the understanding you need to see what will happen to our country if we continue endless immigration.

This is actually an astute notion, when you notice some of the extreme (and at times unrealistic) expectations some have lofted upon the new President's shoulders. The only flaw in the statement being of course that the world is a "real and dangerous place" thanks in large part to the Bush administration's efforts over the past eight years.

Good post, you can always tell you stumped Lounge when his only response is to correct your grammar. Which he often does, because he is really a moron hiding behind snide comments and the thought that he knows what he is talking about.

At least the other lefties around here (FORD, Nick) have decent arguments.

I've learned to not really pay attention to anything Lounge says because its all very very angry little man. He is most likely bi-polar or just extremely depressed, probably both.

He has no life outside of the internet, that's why you can always find him around to bitch and moan at you for no reason, other than to make himself feel better.

Most likely he has no family to speak of, and if so they probably can't stand him whatsoever. I mean if I had a father or spouse that did nothing but sit on his fat ass all day and yell at a computer screen I would hate my life.

Lounge also spends a lot of time complaining about how badly people are treated in this country, but has never mentioned lifting a finger to make any difference. He would rather pay more taxes and act like the government will do a great job.

Pretty much Lounge is a pathetic waste of life, who really needs to seek a therapist, or medication to solve his severe mental disorders.

Just imagine an overweight 46 year old man watching various news networks, yelling at the t.v., typing frantically on his keyboard, and laughing maniacally whenever he "owns" someone.

And as per usual his only response to any of this will be either to correct some grammar, or claim he isn't overweight, or cry. Who knows?

At least the other lefties around here (FORD, Nick) have decent arguments.

I thought Nick and FORD were right handed....my bad.

He is most likely bi-polar or just extremely depressed, probably both.

As far as Lounge's sexuality is concerned we have a don't ask don't tell policy around here.........

He has no life outside of the internet, that's why you can always find him around to bitch and moan at you for no reason, other than to make himself feel better.

Technically, none of us have life inside here.......it's a virtual world.

Most likely he has no family to speak of, and if so they probably can't stand him whatsoever. I mean if I had a father or spouse that did nothing but sit on his fat ass all day and yell at a computer screen I would hate my life.

Sounds like you are projecting there spanky........get in a fight with dad about car privileges, again?

Pretty much Lounge is a pathetic waste of life, who really needs to seek a therapist, or medication to solve his severe mental disorders.

Again I agree, Lounge drink more beer and take more drugs.....stat

Just imagine an overweight 46 year old man watching various news networks, yelling at the t.v., typing frantically on his keyboard, and laughing maniacally whenever he "owns" someone.

Well kiddo........everyone has to have fantasies.......but Fantasizing about fat middle aged men sounds like you have father issues......

And as per usual his only response to any of this will be either to correct some grammar, or claim he isn't overweight, or cry. Who knows?

Maybe he'll cry about being over weight and really not being able to spell.....

Uneducated. Some of you fuckers think that the Trade Centers were blown up and was a conspiracy that was cooked up by Bush and Co.

Get over myself, you better take a look in the mirror pal. Some of you think that there's nothing dangerous in this world except for Republicans. Oh, i get it, terroists really don't exist, all made up i guess.

I have a grand idea. How about you take a one way ticket to Pakistan with you're olive branch and the American flag dew rag and shout out that i am here for peace and love. I want to sit and talk with you guys about laying down your guns, we forgive you for 911, and while you're at it, let me change you're views on me being an infadel. Let's see how that goes over.

It's still hilarious that you think that Bush and Co. had something to do with what's happening with the economy. Sit back, put down the cupcakes and think for a bit. Did he leave the White House with a huge deficit, he sure did. That being said, the biggest reason the economy is in the shape it's in wasn't Bush but all the greedy bank, mortage and oil CEO's.

Most spending in Bush's term was in the time of war, things that went to help the troops in Afganistan and Iraq. Was Iraq a mistake. I think the guy didn't expect us to be there that long and he should have thought it out much more.

You want to talk about spending, let's talk about you liberals. You guys are the crown prince in ear marks and more pork in differant plans than any republican could ever be.

That stupid bitch Pelosis and Fuckhead Reid have sat back for eight yrs. waitng to finally have their chance to push this out of balance and overgrossed welfare package.

I'm not even sure if Obama is actually running anything. The headlines should read, President Palosi and Head up her ass Obama.

You guys think that Obama all of sudden since being elected has made the country be this paradise, where nothing is wrong and everyone is love and happy thoughts. Hello, fuckheads, the real world doesn't run in this manner.

Some of you better wake the fuck up and realize that if you want this country to be better and stronger, you have to have sacrifice and be willing to work hard. Not give it away for free.

This is the biggest problem with you liberals. You want the government to give you everything. Don't worry Lizza, i'm pretty sure if you petition hard enough, the gov. will supply you with a full yrs. supply of ding dongs and ho ho's.

If you would set the ding dongs down and step away from you're computer from time to time, maybe actually go outside you would make yourself somewhat useful to society.

Sometimes i might not be able to convey what i'm thinking, by typing it out, but only a jackass like you would take every little mistake and twist it to benefit yourself.

The trillions in deficit that President Bush accumilated was mostly due to funding Defense for this country, homeland security and the two active campaign's we are still in, even though i think Iraq was not thought out properly.

So you can take you're elitist liberal ass, find some sand and bury you're head. Oh, wait a minute, You liberal's have had you're head buried in the sand for decades now.

Kinda puts that puny 400 point drop in perspective, doesn't it.

We haven't even touched on the corporate criminal activity of the past 8 years.....Enron, Haliburton and on and on and on.......

In summation, Obama hasn't signed anything yet and has stated publicly that the 18.4 billion that the Crooks took is going to be paid back.......the next day, the stock market drops 400 points.....hmm, the 2 aren't related......Obama plainly took yesterday off and single handedly traded on Wall Street all day and fucking made the stock market plumet.......sure!

This is all dandy, but the truth is, the first stimulas package was passed because lawmakers on both side, signed away all that money with a no strings attached policy. The fucking dirty CEO's took that money and ran with it, and only now, after the fact, does congress want the answer's to were all the money went.

This wasn't just a republican situation. It was a total failure on the governments part and we as american taxpayers should hold their feet to fire and demand answers and action be taken immediately against those that were involved.

The new stimulas/welfare package is no better though. Palosi and Reid had this thing drawn up for years now. This may go down as Obama's plan but it's really not his at all. For all of you Demo's, getting Palosi and Reid out of congress would be the best for you're whole party.

They have been cooking this package up, waiting for their time to slip in all the pork amendments and spend money on wasteful programs that will not in one way create new jobs that is desperatly needed.

Yep, and in doing so not only shredded the Constitution to bits and pieces, yet managed to foment a war under the dubious explanation of a hunt for weapons of mass distruction, which was proved to be an out and out lie. The only reason this war began was to put millions of dollars into the pockets of some wartime profiteers who just happened to have ties to our vice president at the time. Spare me the baloney about keeping this country safe for almost eight years. The argument that exept for one morning in September of 2001, Bush did a swell job is about as logical as asking "Aside from that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?"

Yet you are correct to an extent regarding liberals keeping their collective heads in the sand. With self-serving Republican opportunists running amuck, it is appalling that more wasn't done to curb the tide of moral and physical corruption that was given free reign in the U.S. government for the past eight years.

Let's stay topical shall we........

Hearings on the bailout were taking place across the Capitol, with the CEOs appearing in the House while Neil Barofsky, the watchdog of the government's Wall Street rescue package, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

FBI Deputy Director John Pistole told that Senate panel that there are 530 active corporate fraud investigations, and 38 of them involve corporate fraud and financial institution matters directly related to the economic crisis.

Meanwhile, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo accused Merrill Lynch & Co. executives of corporate irresponsibility by secretly and prematurely awarding $3.6 billion in bonuses as taxpayers were bailing out the industry.

Cuomo made the claims in a letter to Frank, saying that instead of disclosing its bonus plan in a transparent manner designed to assure the payments were warranted, Merrill Lynch moved the date of bonuses to richly reward "failed executives." Cuomo says Bank of America, which acquired Merrill last fall, was apparently complicit in the move to award bonuses before Merrill's dismal fourth quarter earnings were announced.

There was no immediate comment from the company. Link (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090211/ap_on_go_co/bailout_banks)

Damn, how did Obama commit all this fraud and careless oversight of the American Tax Payer's money in less than 30 days in office.......

Wake up!

Elvis deserves credit for turning on Bush for not turning back from his lies.

At least 8 years of Republican spending was voted for by the Democrats who stuffed those spending bills on Defense with pork and more pork.

What will Democrats spend in the name of this administration: the Boogeyman that's not there, meaning the Failed Economy?

Failed Economy died last year, replaced by Straw Argument Failing Economy today, which will be replaced next year by Straw Argument BetterByBaracks' Economy next year..

it is so predictable, and unsustainable that without a stronger argument there can be no more support after this latest Spending Bill if it passes, fails.

It will fail because by all top economist predictions, the money wouldn't hit the street for another year and a half.

And by then, all those foreclosed homes will have new happy families in them, with the lost equity Wall St sold to itself partially supported by a limited propping up of stock by you and me, the US Taxpayer.

Fuck the Democrats and all they stand for, and the few loser Republicans who break rank to vote for this shit legislature.

I see.....so the fact that the first bailout was basically a give away to the banks. 18.4 billion went to bonuses/salaries and zero accountability, Doled out by a Repuke Appointed Treasury Secretary.......The AP asked 21 banks what they did with the TARP money and all of them said, "We don't know". Couple that with the Treasury actually overpaying for......

"The Treasury Department overpaid for the assets it purchased as part of the $700 billion financial sector bailout, according to testimony of a bailout oversight official before Congress on Thursday.

At a Senate Banking Committee hearing, Elizabeth Warren, head of the Congressional Oversight Panel, testified that the more than $254 billion in assets that the government purchased in 2008 are worth just $176 billion - $78 billion less than what Treasury paid for them." There are alot of people to blame for the current mess this country is in. If you are the centrist you claim to be, why didn't you bring up Bill Clinton and his Fair Housing Act which basically gave carte blanche to americans to purchase homes they could not afford, causing a good portion of the problems we have today. You're welcome....as for the style of my reply....so was it Lounge or FORD who invented the multi-quote function......just want to know who to thank for that useful function. Personally, Bueno Bob's use of the multi-quote had more of an influence but.........

Classic deflection......attack the poster and not the content when you have nothing to come back with.....change the question and try to somehow....not really sure, what your point is....

So Clinton created the Fair Housing Act......thanks for that piece of information......I feel like such a fool for the 9 years I was a licensed Realtor in Michigan, thinking that the Fair Housing Act was an anti-discrimination Law that was enacted in 1968........Had I known it was an evil device created by Clinton to create the Housing bubble that would help cripple our economy during Bush's Administration.....I would of quit real estate in protest.......

Basic Facts About the Fair Housing Act
What Housing Is Covered?

The Fair Housing Act covers most housing. In some circumstances, the Act exempts owner-occupied buildings with no more than four units, single-family housing sold or rented without the use of a broker, and housing operated by organizations and private clubs that limit occupancy to members.

What Is Prohibited?
In the Sale and Rental of Housing: No one may take any of the following actions based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap:

Refuse to rent or sell housing
Refuse to negotiate for housing
Make housing unavailable
Deny a dwelling
Set different terms, conditions or privileges for sale or rental of a dwelling
Provide different housing services or facilities
Falsely deny that housing is available for inspection, sale, or rental
For profit, persuade owners to sell or rent (blockbusting) or
Deny anyone access to or membership in a facility or service (such as a multiple listing service) related to the sale or rental of housing.
In Mortgage Lending: No one may take any of the following actions based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap (disability):

Refuse to make a mortgage loan
Refuse to provide information regarding loans
Impose different terms or conditions on a loan, such as different interest rates, points, or fees
Discriminate in appraising property
Refuse to purchase a loan or
Set different terms or conditions for purchasing a loan.
In Addition: It is illegal for anyone to:

Threaten, coerce, intimidate or interfere with anyone exercising a fair housing right or assisting others who exercise that right
Advertise or make any statement that indicates a limitation or preference based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap. This prohibition against discriminatory advertising applies to single-family and owner-occupied housing that is otherwise exempt from the Fair Housing Act.
Additional Protection if You Have a Disability
If you or someone associated with you:

Have a physical or mental disability (including hearing, mobility and visual impairments, chronic alcoholism, chronic mental illness, AIDS, AIDS Related Complex and mental retardation) that substantially limits one or more major life activities
Have a record of such a disability or
Are regarded as having such a disability

Seriously, I blame the housing crisis on the banks 80&#37; and stupid consumers 20%..........remember the process for the majority of home buyers......the order may change but the process is usually the same........You get Pre-Qualified by a mortgage broker/bank, this is how much you can afford to buy....you find the house and make an offer.........an appraisal of the property is done by a Licensed Appraiser......if, in his opinion, the value is there.......the mortgage is processed in underwriting....An Underwriter looks at all the documents verifies the information you gave and OK's the loan for final approval, if needed........you close on the property.

I used to tell clients who were using pay stubs with overtime and both the husband and wife's income to qualify........."What are you going to do if....A. one of you loses a job. B. They cut out overtime". Still comes back to a bank cut the check!

3 different steps had to be done for you to buy a house........if the house was over-inflated then why did the Appraiser find the value? If you could not afford the payments after an ARM kicked in then why did the banks give you the money? If you could never afford the house in the first place why didn't the Underwriter, when verifying your income to debt ratio, reject the loan?

Most people who are losing their houses aren't on a refinance or an ARM.......at least here in Michigan.......they are walking away from 30 year fixed.....they don't have a fucking job anymore..........nothing to do with what they can afford, since they had a job when they purchased the home......

Yes, people extended themselves way too much and got buried in credit but the point remains.....someone OK'd it and that sure as fuck wasn't Clinton......

The banks went into a frenzy of bad lending but the banks were borrowing money based on DEBT not on assests.......The banks fucked this country up and Wall Street.........Not Bill Clinton! Was his the Perfect Presidency? Fuck no, he made a shit load of mistakes but we had a surplus under his watch and a doubling of the National debt under Bush.........Like Clinton is not a 100% at fault but was running the country, he gets the blame for anything that happened under his watch........Well, the same goes for Bush! He may not of personally created all the mess we are in now but it happened under his watch.

As far as the current Bailout or Stimulus Package.......Obama is doing a fuck of a lot better putting oversight and regulation on it than Bush did.......To me it shows the difference between a guy who gets it and someone just doesn't give a fuck.......Bush believes that the market should be unregulated and gave the first half of the TARP money as a blank check......well that didn't work.....Obama is going to try and make sure that at least they account for the money...........

Will this work? Honestly......I have no clue......never been in a Great Depression.........but if it can rebuild our infrastructure, put people back to work temporarily, fix our schools, give the middle class a tax break and guarantee that banks never get out of line like this again........don't know about you but I say give it a try.......Doing what Bush did.......basiclly, nothing sure as the fuck didn't work.....

Part of the reason Canada is surviving this is because our banks are much better regulated.

Obama adviser looks to Canada's financial system

TORONTO — The United States should emerge from the economic crisis with a two-part financial system that places tighter restrictions on banks, says former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker.

To prevent another banking crisis from undermining the economy, the U.S. financial system must turn back the clock to a time when commercial banks were the core of the credit system, Mr. Volcker said. He is chairing Barack Obama's new Economic Recovery Advisory Board, which was unveiled last week and will advise the U.S. President on programs to jump-start the economy.

The system that Mr.Volcker envisions “looks more like the Canadian system than it does like the American system,” he told a Toronto audience Wednesday night.

Part of your post I find surprising is using O/T as part of the income to qualify.

Whenever I have bought...I always had to get a verification of employment from work...and it could only have my base wage on it.

Overtime, shift differentials and bonus' were not to be included...and for good reason IMO.

You could include a spouse's income though.

I do blame consumers quite abit though.

I know guys that refinace just to buy a new truck or all new appliances.

You pay a pretty penny for that stuff in the end...

There should be a rule...You do not use your house as an ATM machine...

Even the Chinese and the Saudis - the very countries that the BCE has sold us out to for the last 28 years - were making public statements yesterday about how unregulated predatory capitalism was fucking up this country.

The Chi-coms and the Terrorist funders even get it, but the Repukes (and DLC/Blue Balled Cowards) in the Senate don't??

Can't say OT was the standard but I watched several couples use pay stubs that were purely OT.........hey, they played the game.......they may have gotten burned.....who knows..........

Even though housing was a part of it......oil and gas played it's part, too...over 85% of all consumer goods are trucked to the point of purchase.......$4 a gallon gas meant that all consumer goods went up......the banks hording the first part of the bailout and not lending has really hurt our economic growth.....which is non-existent.......borrowing close to a trillion dollars from China to finance a losing occupation hasn't helped, either......

Basically, Bush's tenure as President will go down in history as what not to do.........

I STILL can't understand for the life of me, WHY THE FUCK BUSHCO gave out the initial TARP funds WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED

How fucking hard was that?

You want US TAXPAYER money to bail you out?

It MUST be put onto the credit market, you must prove to us every 30 days this has happened, and NO FUNDS may be used for bonuses, jets, offices, or junkets.

BREAK THIS SIMPLE RULE, WE CALL THE NOTE IMMEDIATELY.

How fucking HARD would that have been?

Well, that would be Socialism.........putting any kind of regulation on anything.....heaven forbid the Holy Keepers of the sacred Fiscally Responsibility be called to task when they completely and utterly dropped the fucking ball.......Fucking Cheney's interview last week, he said no one knew things were going as bad as they were.....Wha? We've been warned and the telltale signs were there, starting around Aug. of 2007......Cheney and Bush on the other hand didn't have a clue........now how this is a liberal slant when THE FUCKING WORDS CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH! well, I never listen to Rush to hear his spin on it......

I keep laughing my ass off at these guys saying Obama is going to create a Socialist Society........When Bush's tenure bloated Government to twice it's size and double the National Debt........ Government spying on Americans and butting into our daily lives.....Oh Obama's a Socialist........No fucking Bush was! Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck='s

No wait it's Clinton's fault! It's Obama's fault.........

Pesky things like verifiable fact and the inescapable fact that the first 6 years of Bush's Presidency the Repukes had the slam dunk Majority........seems to escape these guys...

Yes, for the millionth time......Congress fucked up by trusting Hammering Hank to dole out the candy unchecked but....Bush should of called foul on this......you know like Obama did......fucking pesky facts again.

How about explaining to me why Donny Rumsfeld on 9/11 was saying how can we tie Saddam into this.........Brilliant camera shot of his handwritten note saying this, PBS Front Line, Rumsfeld's War........Iraq wasn't an intelligence failure.....when the concrete proof is that the NeoCons already had the pre-conceived notion of invading Iraq and disregarded all the brilliant Intelligence Analyst saying there was no proof......then when called out on it said it was faulty Intelligence......Come on now!

Try and white wash and deflect blame all you want......those people are really Drinking The Kool-Aid!

Socialism....a word that is over used right now.

Obama may have some socialist ideals...but too me still looks right of center.

IMO...a true Lefty will not be president anymore than a true Righty will be PM of mine...it just won't fly.

The best place to be is governed is from the center...with a slight lean to the right...once again that is just my opinion.

And a valid opinion it is.........that's what I don't get.....if you even peruse Obama's history, he's not a left wing liberal......look at how he ran the Harvard Law review....from the center........The guy's made a career of being in the center but.......he is a Mulsim and the rumor is his wife has black children, so..........

This is shit that will definately stimulate the economy... bullshit!!

Tucked in among the vast construction projects and tax relief programs is an effort to revive a law that's been dead for over 60 years that would provide up to $198 million in pensions for Filipinos who fought alongside the U.S. during WWII. U.S. citizens would get $15,000 a year, but even non-citizens would still get $9,000 a year.

The bill also invests heavily in research and technology. NASA is set to receive $450 million for "Science" and another $200 million for "Aeronautics."

More than $28 billion is being provided to put kids in special education, Head Start and child care and development programs for disadvantaged children.

FOXNews.com readers pored over the package and found a host of expenditures that might not pump money in any time soon. What follows is a list of some of the more fascinating -- if less stimulating -- items in the bill:

-- $100 million for the Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant Program
-- $200 million to the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund Program
-- $300 million for "Violence Against Women Prevention and Prosecution Programs"
-- $900 million for the IRS for the "Limitation on Administrative Expenses"
-- $1 million for the Railroad Retirement Board for administrative costs
-- $2 billion for the Drinking Water State Revolving Act
-- $50 million for Health and Human Services to carry out injury prevention programs
-- $1.1 billion for studies on the effectiveness of different medical treatments -- $200 million to upgrade labs and facilities for the Department of Agriculture "to improve workplace safety and mission-area efficiencies"
-- $10 million for urban canal inspection
-- $16 billion to pay for student financial aid
-- $1 billion to pay for the U.S. Census
-- $600 million to pay for a fuel-efficient federal auto fleet
-- $650 million for the Digital Converter Box Program to help the constantly delayed transition from analog television
-- $485 million to the Forest Service for "hazardous fuels reduction and hazard mitigation activities in areas at high risk of catastrophic wildfire"
-- Up to $1 billion for "summer activities" for youths as old as 24
-- $40 million for the occupational research agenda
-- $3 billion for the Centers for Disease Control wellness programs and vaccinations
-- $410 million for Indian health facilities
-- $2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstrations

Last nite's Fox program (2-14-09) Huckabee show, Mike Huckabee printed out all 900 pages of the proposed bill and split it up to the audience in 50 page sections and asked them to read for 3 minutes to prove the average reading speed of normal people you couldn't even begin to understand what's in it.

Only 2 people stood up to state their synopsis and these guys both said it what they read was inappropriate, wrong, and wouldn't stimulate anything.

I think shitting a big brown goose down the shitter stimulates the economy more than this bill: the Los Angeles Dept of Water and Power gets money for each turd that flows to the ocean: that turd you could divide by the number of residents on average, by the number of bowel eliminations on average, then divide that into the annual budget for sewage treatment and elimination to show how your shit does more good than this bill.

I think you could show anything benefits the nation more than this bill: little girls on the sidewalk skipping rope generate appetites which more eagerly consume soup and sandwiches, which stimulates supermarket growth from actual sales of food product, therefore skipping rope shall save the economy!

Also on the Huckabee show, he proved none of these senators have read the bill, or had the time to read the bill. If you read 550 to 800 words a minute, he said it would take about 16 hours without a potty break to go from cover to cover, not taking into consideration the legalese and Latin law-referenced terms used to throw you off the scent of Pork.

One senator said Obamas' inital plan would have been about 40 percent effective if Pelosi's team hadn't gangraped it down to 25 percent effectiveness - meaning, the bill is technically 75 percent pork and spending projects.

When asked why didn't Obama vote for the lending and finance reforms when it came up to vote in 2005 under Bush, the guy said "basically when he was in attendance here in the Senate, he was too busy campaigning for the Presidency."

Obama's a Democrat by the way. Not that a shitty work ethic is the aim of all Democrats, but most new Senators would consider a good few terms of service first before being considered proficient in Government or campaigning for President.
