When I was a little kid I thought Jesus showed up at our door. It was a cousin of our next door neighbor and he came to see if he could borrow a suit because he had a job interview. He was a long haired hippy and stoned on something. He had this calm voice and asked,"Is your mother home?"
In Sunday School they were telling us we needed to prepare for the second coming of Jesus and they used pictures of Jesus knocking at a door with the caption, "Are You Ready?"
Then one day Jesus shows up at the door. I go running down the stairs yelling,"Mom! Mom! Jesus is at the door!" My mom liked to joke Jesus showed up and she was ready. She had a suit that fit him. LOL!
My mom swears that one day back in the 80's, she saw Jesus Christ standing in the driveway in front of the kitchen window.
Mom didn't do any recreational drugs, but she was on a migraine prescription at the time that was made from the ergot fungus - which is what LSD is made from. So go figure......

While I certainly agree Jesus is often misquoted for selfish or inappropriate reasons, the author/cartoonist does leave a few things out (thus committing the sin of omission?)...
On Abortion
Jesus didn't speak directly on abortion but the Ten Commandments do clearly state Thou Shall Not Murder (a truer translation than Thou Shall Not Kill).
Of course people will argue as to when life begins.
On Alcohol and drugs:
Christianity doesn't forbid any substance, but misuse of substances is forbidden.
Jesus warns against depression and excessive drinking; “Be on guard, that your hearts may not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life...” (Luke 21:34).
Sin an archery term for missing the mark. You can break the Ten Commandments but you will be better off in life if you don't.
