Why wait ?
This place is crawling with sound engineers, bootleggers,
collectors...
There has to be enough material to make another CVH album.
Is there anyone out there that can do a nice job of cleaning
up (remastering) any of those old recordings...
I know its a stretch without the mastertracks,
but......

How about a songlist...

I'll start with Eyes of the Night.
Me Wise Magic
Cant Get this stuff no more.

Please add to the list.....
Maybe some of the pro recorded stuff that was left
off albums first ???

I got a shitload of boots of VH doing covers.
I wouldn't mind hearing some of those remasted and added to
this effort.

I still say we need to get the tapes from the VDIII tour, wipe Cherone's vocals, mix in some Dave from a recent tour and get a "Classic Van HALEN Live album".

Hell, it wouldn't be any less authentic than 95% of the so-called "live" albums that are already out there. KISS Alive? Live Evil? More like KISS Studio and Live Overdub.

I cleaned up an already clean version of the demo made with Simmons using older Sound Blaster software...

It helped, but it lost some if it's depth (if it had any in the first place)...

What works good is to record it to reel to reel tape while boosting some mids and bass, but that's too much trouble. I've done it with other stuff...

I made an all live disc of different bands using what I described above and nobody could believe the original source was MP3...mostly 320kb BTW

I started the process with the London 1978 Van Halen show but only got through two songs. The main problems with it are abrupt changes in volume. I was jotting down the times on paper and compensating for it in real time...

It can be done, but it gets old fast, because as soon as I would make a mistake i'd start over...

I'm looking foward to taking another shot at it using Reaper, hopefully...

Maybe i'll overdub some guitar parts...:D

The looney tunes recordings would be a perfect source, but unfortunately the quality is not that great :-/

And leave the Cherone lyrics from VD3? Are you kidding?

Personally I would like to see "We Die Young" on a homebrew VH rehash disc..

NO !!

We are in phase 1, strong contenders that dont need a lot of work..
lots of great songs already mentioned, I know theres more..
Lots of covers, trying to get mostly originals, but a cover
or two wouldnt be against tradition
