I need your help gentlemen. What kind of guitar is the lead guitarist on the Eddie Money video "Shakin" playing? I thought it was a Gibson of some sort, but after searching I think I am wrong. It is a really neat looking ax but I can't place it. Your mission if you choose to accept it, find the make and model of this guitar. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds.

Both guitar players use Les Pauls, however the guy on the right towards the end looks like he plays a Les Paul "T.V." so named because of the cream-yellow finish.

Basically it's a Les Paul Special, early to late 50's, flat top not carved fitted with two P90 pickups usually.

At first glance (that's all you get) I would say it's a Guild or a BC Rich, but two answers does not constitute an answer...

Hey, the message never self destructed...must be a dud...

You never really get a clear look at it...almost looks like a Gibson Moderne in one shot, but the headstock's not right...

I know, the headstock looks Guild-ish...

He's most likely playing a late '70's Ibanez Futura (Gibson Moderne copy with basically a Les Paul style headstock)
See 1:15 -1:20 of video ;)

Yeah sorry I had a few tabs open looking for it.

When I thought Eddie Money instantly I referred to a mental image recalling what his guys had, and saw the color of the Moderne thinking it's a Les Paul TV.

It's a Moderne. No other guitar has that V wing with a Paul style cutaway tip.

I'm a V person, and they are comfortable, but I don't care for them because you can't sit with it in your lap like the V.

The V is the most comfortable guitar to play!

Thank you very much gentlemen! To some, that is probably an ugly ass guitar, but I thought it was pretty neat looking and had to know what it was. Diamondjimi, thanks for jumping in on the investigation. Thanks for your help kind sir.

Okay, I did a little digging and this guitar appears to be quite a collectors piece. I would probably have better luck buying a snowball in hell. Wonder what the guys at Agile could do with this one. They seem to be the copy Kings.

I kinda think the (original) Moderne headstock suits it better than the L.P. style...

Compare this pic:

And pause the video on 1:14 and look at the bottom cutaway on the back of the guitar...

Only the Ibanez copy has that cutaway...
