View Full Version : Where would we be if McCain won?

McCain would have given us the same bankers bailout Obama has. Instead of a talk in Cairo McCain would be rattling sabers at Iran and maybe have bombed them already. Iraq, Iran, and Afganistahn would be the big focus. The media attention would be on Sarah Palin. She would not be the big celebrity the Obama's are but she would be the celebrity and personality press center of attention.

Whether it's Obama or McCain we would roughly get the same thing with minor differences here and there. Also the way things are sold to us are different but the end result is amazingly the same. More war, more govt., and more debt.

McCain could go fuck himself.

The insurance, pharma and banking are in his back pocket same as Obama.

With Obama, we may have a chance at deporting the illegals.. HAHAHA as if.

McCain I think is on the same plate with allowing the illegals, cuntinuing NAFTA and low import duty tarriffs from the rest of the world.

If I build a gadget and send it to Europe, the fuckers wanna tax me hard, but if I order something from the UK like a cool vintage Marshall head, if I declare it I pay 5% - if I say it's a gift in used condition I can get away with zero.

Instead of taxing the hell out of the US, why not negotiate to lower export tarriffs in other countries? Is that a stupid idea or what?

Think with Obama there's just a clarity of thought and even temper.

With McCain, I got the sense he thought he already knew it all, along with him being all too quick to exercise military options over diplomacy...and frankly, just because McCain served in the military and was a POW, that doesn't necessarily mean he by default was more qualified than Obama to know how and when the military should be applied.

Plus, Palin is a grade-A ignoramus; intellectually incurious with equal amounts of dogmatic religious beliefs as her ideological touchstone...I had no desire to have Bush in drag a heartbeat away.

Pretty much. We were in a world of hurt before Obama ever took the oath of office. In a true economic sense we should have let the loser banks fail but by doing so we already would be in a full on depression with the resulting civil unrest. Bailing out the banks and some corporations has bought some time but it's not going to fix anything long-term. As people pay more taxes and realize much of the money was fleeced by crooked bankers this could erupt in civil unrest later.

I still see a lot of people getting very angry and the govt. cracking down no matter what we do or who is president. I think many Democrats will become disillusioned once Obama fever wears off and the problems get worse.

One thing for sure, it won't be business as usual in the US. We will probably see the emergence of a third party composed of Democrats and Republicans that want to go back to core Constitutional values.

Sure would be nice to get back to the basics. We still need manufacturing to come back here because, IMO, until we have that back we'll never move forward as a country.

Far as civil unrest goes, the general population sadly has an enormous capacity for swallowing bullshit. They'd sooner erupt over being denied cable tv than they would for paying higher taxes.

Actually it's the people without cable TV who are probably fucked right now.... if they didn't get their digital upgrade shit, that is. That will probably be the subject of the next teabagger rally.

Even Temper-Yes (which to me is the major difference and reason McCain lost).
Clarity of Thought-Not so much. None of these sweeping changes and policies are helping the economy one bit, which makes the decisions seem like a rush to judgement, not clarity.

Kinda like you get the feeling that, try anything, can't make it any worse. Not a big fan of what has been happening over the last year or so.......both past and present administrations.

If you look North...we are in a similar boat.

Your's is more of a submarine at the moment though.

Here...our Conservatives are spending alot of money to keep things going...and thus...with everyone's hand out...not everyone is getting what they think they should get.

The Cons are going into deficit for only one reason...to keep the minority government in power.

We are spending some good money...but alot of bad money.

The oppostition threatens to bring down the governmnet with a non confidence vote...yet...one minute they scream about going too far into debt...then complain that they are not spending enough.

....Makes you wanna bring out the gallows pole....

Sarah Palin is the perfect puppet pResident for the BCE.

Dumber than even Chimpy, and yet they could probably get away with her as a candidate (as opposed to Jeb, for example) by playing up the false feminism angle - which is exactly what Moosealini herself (or her handlers) have been doing with the whole Letterman "scandal" "Like omigod, did you hear what this MAN said about me and my children?????"

I agree McCain was the least-worst choice candidate, but I have been so sick of being thrown that choice in the elections I won't do that anymore.

I think it's all pre-calculated to give us that "least-worst" choice, and by throwing a black guy up there the Democrats changed the rules because then the election became a racial issue and an underdog issue even though Obama was unqualified, unconnected, and probably not even a US citizen.

McCain like John Letsrock says, woulda died before fulfilling his first term letting Palin lead and nobody wanted that.

She's a nice lady, a conservative and an independant thinker and everyone admires her moxy. But moxy alone doesn't make up for the nearly 20 years of business experience and politicking on the local and regional levels to get you connected as expected of a president-elect.

McInsane seemed to have a burden of being quick to anger when he didn't have the right answer and/or quaint reply to his cliche "my fellow Americans" horseshit. Even in the debates did he clearly demonstrate this hoping in some demented way it'd would safely put all the Right's mindset of brute force over diplomacy constructed by Bush and Co.

Plus McInsane was to easily hoodwinked by GOP think tanks who I still say brought forth Palin and her whole pitbull tactics which did not gel with the female population when Hilary dropped out. It was then the first part election for gandpy was lost. What was funny (or sad depending upon how you look at it) was when Palin couldn't quite reach all the stray sheep the GOP was going for and the second part of the election was lost with the GOP tool "Joe The Plumber" and his whole myopic Brooks & Dunn, 4X4 truck driving, Bud-lite drinking, I know what faucet hardware is so I automatically know what socialism and political upheaval in Iran AND Israel is blue collar soundbite nonsense. So to answer the question, right now we'd have a quick-tempered old man running the nation with a ex-beauty queen Barbie by his side and a bunch of non-licensed but over-paid workers going off to war with Iran right about now.

Because she is the polar opposite of a feminist. The only valid comparison to Obama would be if he had ran as a member of the KKK.
