A friend of mine is in a garage band that has a familiar vibe to it.

Just listen, to ALL of this song. Here is the new link:

sorry...bro...but this is shit...sounds more like a "god of thunder"-rip off without the demon-voice of chaim witz...isn't AT ALL...not even CLOSE to VH...just my thoughts...

It doesn't sound too much like VH but it is pretty cool sounding.

Thanks, I'll let my buddy know. He didn't claim to sound like VH, but he did say that DLR-VH was a major influence on his band.

The last "NEW" Van Halen was my old band "Dreamstone" :)

I don't hear VH in there at all. Sounds more like a cross between Sweet & early Motley Crue.

Thanks for your guys comments, whether good or bad. I would like to know what GROUP or BAND that you guys think the band sounds similar too, kind of like FORD did.

Thanks, FORD!

The new song sounds like a cross between Where Eaglys Fly and Wind Beneath My Wings.

Both songs, coincidentally were written by Spammy

This isn't about the "new song". It's about this garage band's song. Did you listen to it? The link is the very first post in this thread.

Thanks.

I have a sneaky suspicion that half you guys didn't listen to the WHOLE song.

Am I right? (I know I am)

I like the intro just a little too long.

It's a little eighties-ish but some of the flangey effects almost add the illusion of a modern vibe.

I can see VH Influence in the background vox, the rap in the middle and in other subtle ways.

Influence, to me, does not mean blatant emulation ala Calderone.

It's cool. If they were local, I'd record them in my bad mutha-fuckin studio.

didn't pay attention to the lyrics.

I hear some Vince Neil.

That's my opinion.

I'm not saying I love it. I'd look at as a demo of a work in progress.

Keep it up. Get a producer.

I didn't vote if i did i'd vote.

Some VH influence.

"there's a little VH in everyone"

LOL
