About the Finish:

This is a prototype copyrighted finish in my line called "Tribute Series" Very detailed with great, some rare, pictures of Eddies early carrer. I was trying different types of auto clearcoats. Due to it being such a thin clearcoat, it has some thin cracks in the finish. So the smooth, mirror, surface went out the window. Its still smooth and has a nice shine, but has the small cracks. Nothing drastic. Nothing nasty. Just the clear shrinking and sinking. Due to its complexity, instead of starting over, I'll sell this prototype and make another. The picture shown is the worst spots. Located along the bottom.

This isn't just a wallhanger. Custom made. A real player. Professionaly set up and ready to rock. Pup can easly be switched to your taste. Everything is top of the line. Nothing cheap here. This is the reason for the reserve. Worth every penny.

Wow. Four hundred bucks?
Bet the reserve is pretty high...
If this guy paid $900 for all the parts, he paid retail...lol....and he could still only muster a Mighty Mite neck and a Ping Floyd...

That thing looks like fucking ASS!

Reminds me of a project/activity my class did in grade one to Coke bottles. No dif. really except we used random pics of stuff from Time magazine and then proceded to brush on varnish...

Funny thing is he's actually getting bids... Good luck dude!

Hah I did the same thing sticking cartoons on a guitar many many years ago.

I don't know much about making guitars but how can sticking pictures of EVH on a guitar and then varnishing it cost him $300?

Also surely Eddies early carer was Roth followed later by Valerie... :)

I saw a much cooler version of this concept in the early 90s...only the guy had put hardcore PRON images on it....looked simultaneously obscene and awesome...

Peavey's custom shop (http://www.peavey.com/products/custom.cfm) has a similar set up. They'll put anything on a guitar that you upload to them. It cost's $400 bucks for custom graphics but that's not that much considering it can be anything you want.

i did that to a guitar I built way back when. Except I didn't put a clearcoat over it. It was pretty nasty. I tended to bury that dirty mongrel in it's case whenever Mom popped over for a visit...

Since it has some stripes... suprised Ed's lawyers haven't shut this one down.

Maybe he took them on the honeymoon...

I'm willing to bet that the real guitar is without the pics. Notice the stripes. This way he is trying to get around the system. Just my 2cents.

I just noticed the copy saying it is his "copywrited" finish. I highly doubt that.

That is why i stand by my theory. Look beyond the pictures. This sale has nothing to do with pictures.

You can't copyright a finish. Maybe he's trying to say patented which of course it won't be.

Silly person.

This is my take on Eddie Van Halen's "Frankenstrat", his most famous guitar. The paint job matches up in great detail with the Eddies guitar. I even went to the trouble of taking out the middle and bridge pickups and adding a humbucker in the bridge position. It feels perfect in your hands and has thick solid neck with Rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. Sounds and plays great, although the intonation on the low E is a bit off. A longer screw on the low E saddle should fix that little problem. The action is set at a medium range perfect for blues/rock. There is a crack at the heel that is noticeable (slightly), however it is cosmetic and doesn't affect the playing. Also the high E tuning peg is sometimes a bit difficult to turn. The guitar is great for beginners and comes with everything you need to get playing immediately. This kit includes the guitar strung with ernie ball heavy slinky strings; the amp that came with it; a begginners guide to the Fender method; a tuner; Fender guitar strap; The alan wrenches and three guitar picks (Fender mediums); the amp cord; and a gig bag. This is great for the beginner who wants to have an awesome looking guitar at a low cost. Dont let this great buy pass you up.

Current bid: US $112.50

Damn, 5 springs. Nice orange peel. Intersting take on the pickguard, over the neck pickup.

And the first guitar is equally as sorry...especially with the killer "polyfoam case."

Wait until Deadwad gets a buzz over the stupid stripes...
