Believing that Barack is not an American citizen is no more crazy than believing in any of the any conspiracies floating around. BCE, 9/11, Kennedy, moon landing, etc... Although this ladies voice sure is a spine tingler. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Well, Obama has spent a million bucks in legal fees fighting these accusations. If he had the certificate, he could have very easily produced it and saved a load of cash.

Obama is right to ignore this stupidity.

Commentary: Obama birth issue is nutty - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/07/22/martin.obama.birth/index.html)

The YouTube video of an out-of-control woman yelling and screaming at Republican Congressman Mike Castle's town hall meeting in Delaware, demanding to see the birth certificate of President Barack Obama, is utterly hilarious.

To watch others cheer her insanity, and then boo the congressman who says the president is an American, shows you that we have a serious problem with mental illness in this country.

The nut jobs that continue to promote this story are wacky, right-wing radio and TV talk shows hosts and no-credibility bloggers. They have latched onto this story like bloodsucking leeches, and actually want us to believe this story has legs.

Last week, in a suit filed by perennial presidential loser, Alan Keyes, they even tried to claim a court victory after a federal district judge in California asked to listen to the merits of their case. I'm sure he simply wanted to see for himself how delusional they are.

From the moment President Obama entered the race, he has had to endure the so-called flag-waving American patriots who think they are the arbiters of what's right for the country. What cracks me up is that in order to justify their loony beliefs, they say, "The president could just end this once and for all by producing the birth certificate."
Do you actually believe these wackos will stop there? They will then accuse the president of doctoring the document and ordering up the state of Hawaii and federal officials to create the birth certificate.

The next thing you know, one of those nut job right-wingers in Congress -- and yes, there are left-wing nut jobs as well -- will demand a federal investigation into the production of the birth certificate.

During the presidential campaign last year, the issue of whether Barack Obama was a "natural born citizen" legally qualified to be president was scrutinized by reporters and researchers who concluded that Obama was born in the United States.

For example, in August, 2008, factcheck.org published the following: "FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false."

President Obama is right to ignore these losers. They are right up there with Holocaust deniers like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the people who insist that the landing on the moon was done in a television studio.

Conspiracy theorists are everywhere. It's just that today, we have to deal with the Internet and all the mess that is disseminated in the name of so-called transparency.

So nut jobs, keep it coming. In such difficult times, we all need a good laugh every now and then, and you provide great comic fodder.

The Bush name isn't too useful at the moment politically but no doubt it will recover in time.

I can't believe anybody is still hanging on to this "He's not an American citizen" bullshit. Two newspapers reported his birth, there's an official birth certificate available; what the fuck else do you need? You think it's been a massive conspiracy and he was born in Kenya, but this has all been in play for 48 years now?

Christ, by the criteria he's being judged by it's just as easy to claim I'm not an American citizen and my birth in Michigan was all a snowjob. Same goes for you, Gar.

Same goes for anybody.

Republicans are so fucking desperate they're willing to stoop to ANY depths. Sad. Although I never entirely agreed with their policies and standpoints, I used to at least hold SOME respect for the party. Shit like this just makes them look like a joke. No wonder they're imploding and without any visible leader; with the masses running around the barnyard like chickens with their heads cut off wringing their hands about him "not being an American!", who'd WANT to be the leader?

Oh yeah. Rush and Bill.

Let me tell you something about state governments, GAyR. They have literally billions of pieces of paper like this, all sorts of records going back through history. Maybe Hawaii has a little less of it than other states, because there has only been a state government since 1959. But huge amount of paper files require a huge amount of space to store them in, and most state agencies don't have the floor space for that. Which is why they have state archives. Now every state, and every agency within a state might have varying criteria on how long they hold on to a paper copy before it's archived, but at most it's going to be 10 years. So a birth certificate from 1961 is definitely going to be in the Archives, and not in some file cabinet at the Honolulu branch of the State Department of Health.

The copy you see there is official. Hawaii's REPUBLICAN governor has certified it's authenticity. And, by the way, like many births, it was announced in the local newspaper......

The full page of that newspaper is here (http://buzznewsroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/obama-1961-birth-announcement-from-honolulu-advertiser.jpg), if you think I made up that announcement.

It's really simple as that. I had to produce a birth cirtificate to get my passport. It's no big deal unless of course you don't have one.

I call it free speech. You have the right to make a fool of yourself.

Obama is in the final quarter of his first year in office. People took the issue of his place of birth to the Supreme Court and the court ruled in favor of Obama. If people want to push that issue, they have the right to do it.

The reality of the matter is the US economy is failing. The dollar is losing it's value, our national debts are going through the roof. We are involved in two wars and job losses mount. If you have a job, your pay has been cut. In a year or two people are going to be angry. Very angry. They will want solutions. Obama has no real solutions that I see and his going along with the Bush bankers bailout has been a disaster.

I see no vision in Obama. He's no John F. Kennedy that inspired the nation to go against the odds and put a man on the moon in ten years or take on the corrupt Federal Reserve System. Not that I blame Obama for all of it but we haven't had a US President that really cared about the American people since Kennedy. We've been going down the shitter the day he was shot.

The best thing Obama could do as president is get up there and inspire the US to use it's technology to get off of oil in ten years. Such an undertaking would create jobs and not just dumb ass useless government jobs. Also, Obama should encourage local communities to work together to help their communities at the local level. He should encourage new business formation by cutting taxes and making loans available instead of just being a corporate Uncle Tom.
