The Japanese never even saw it. Seriously, the Japanese are very sensitive to the issue of birth defects, thanks to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The net result being the original artwork was banished in Japan. It was then retouched to reveal the following image:

I really hope Jimmy Page wasn't involved in this since I respect his work on guiding Zep's imagery from the 60s up to the DVD. But this turd of a cover duo? Really? At least they used photos from the appropriate eras, but Led Zeppelin in NASA spacesuits? What a huge lack of imagination. I've seen dozens or even hundreds of bootleg covers that were better.
