Eddie Van Halen's EXACT Boss GE-10 Equalizer settings

EDDIE'S EXACT SETTINGS FOR ALL FADERS just like EDDIE VAN HALEN used to get his Brown Sound!

I have done a LOT of research on Eddie's gear. After years of searching I finally found one very old actual photograph that clearly shows all of Eddie's setting on his GE-10, UP CLOSE! Then I carefully graphed those settings. These settings did NOT come from some blurry picture from across the stage, or the smallest part of some tiny black and white photo - they came from a real, up-close, actual photograph of Eddie's Boss GE-10 Equalizer. There's no reason to have Eddie's EQ w/out his precise settings!

These settings are for the personal use of this purchaser only and not to be sold, traded, given away or shared, ever, in any way. No resale rights are included. I'm sorry to be tight on this, but it has taken me a lot of time and effort to come by these settings.

There's a lot of high quality pictures of Ed's rig, pedal boards and stuff around with very clear pics showing all the settings.

Even if you did have the same models of everything and all the knobs set just like Ed's... it won't sound just like Ed's...

This is amazing. Funny how he doesnt mention what tour or venue. Which could create slightly different settings from gig to gig.

I'm guessing the bag is hiding the Univox tape delay used for "Eruption."

All the photo shows is what's obvious to the ear: a scooped-out midrange, with the treble range boosted higher than the low-end but no shot of the amp tone setting which I'd guess was full-up, since Marshall tone controls are a passive filter network anyways.

This information is helpful for someone trying to copy the EVH tone, but since the guy's front-end amplifier input sensitivity is going to vary from amp to amp, even if he had a picture of Ed's Marshall settings to go with it you'd still have to play with the tone section of the amp in order to dial in in just right.

Plus, you'd have to have the Variac. And you'd have to have those big Ohmite resistors overloading the output. Naturally, a set of pre-1970 Thames-Ditton-Surrey Celestion 25 watt speakers would help, just a little.

Of course, learning to play the guitar before spending 15K for a duplicate brown sound rig is the icing on the cake but not really necessary these days, if you pay any attention to modern FM rock radio.. no guitar leads - no worries!

CUntsidering the fact that in the early VH days he used the Phase 90 75% of the time it makes good sense to boost the mids since phase shifters will generally rob you of good healthy midrange frequencies... ;)

What useless information. There are so many variables in Ed's rig back then, down to the type and length of cables used to hook everything up, the power supplied for everything at the venue, shit even the temperature and humidity in the fucking venue, that those eq settings are worthless.

That loser on eBay is almost as stupid as Gar.
