Hey, at least it made the VMAs worthy of being talked about. Plus, because of the media overkill, Taylor Swift's name will be heard by plenty of people who wouldn't have a clue who she was otherwise.

Not that it matters. Swift, West and Beyonce all suck.

Doubtful. As he walked out onto Lenos show he was cheered loudly...not booed. His fans don't give a shit if he was rude, they're just like him. And MTV, record labels, radio stations can act as if they are appalled, but in reality they love it. More publicity = more dollars.

Kanye is a full fledged piece of shit, and unfortunately there are enough piece of shit fans that love this stuff.

Another one just came to me. This was on the Grammys when Bob Dylan won and some shirtless guy ran up onto the stage with "Soy Bomb" written on his chest and doing a bizarre dance.

That one was most bizzare. All these awards shows are a load of shit . Rarely does the deserving artist win. There's always gonna be the crybaby's who hang their personal self worth on winning these stupid "awards" . Next year it'll be someone else having a hissy fit. Fuck 'em all... :finger-attitude:

My favorite disturbance (besides DLR's alleged VMA 1996) is Jarvis COCKer (the kewlest name ever?) disturbing Michael Jackson's performance at the VMA because he was pissed off about Jacko pretending to be a Jesus-figure...

And that's what being a self-professed "spokesman for a generation" is all about.

This is nothing to get all upset about. Maybe Leno's fans know something we don't: that if Kanye's mouth doesn't kill him, his ego will.

Plenty of musicians do some utterly moronic things - glancing over at my record collection, I am perfectly aware of the fact that it is populated by people that I probably wouldn't like very much if I met them.

Kanye was incredibly rude to a woman who didn't deserve to be treated that way, but there is much bigger news in the world than this.

True. The problem is that this is indicative of what the youth of today are finding as acceptable behavior. If the hammer isn't brought down on Kanye, it just promotes this mentality even more. But who will bring the hammer down? MTV? Hell no, too much of a ratings boost. Record labels? Absolutely not. Any publicity is good publicity. It's up to fans to stop buying his "music", cheering for him, and going to his performances. Basically saying to him, you're an asshole and you're not getting any more of my money.

I think Beyonce's talented and all, but her tune and Taylor's are unlistenable to these ears. Just devoid of anything compelling about music.

Absolutely. But then most of the people whose posters you had on your bedroom wall behaved WAY worse than Kanye (sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll) and you turned out fine. I mean, shit, death by drink-driving hardly damaged Motley Crue's career; and Ozzy tried to fucking kill Sharon, put's Kanye's rudeness in perspective.

I think that, just like the kids of the 80s, the kids of the 00s will group up to recognize a dumbass when they see one.

Once this subsides, we can all go back to not knowing (or caring) who she was again.

At least West provided some entertainment at the awards show. More than either Swift OR Beyonce have provided for me when doing their day jobs.

On the Kanye incident...I wouldn't think twice about it if it would have been Madonna up there...or some other crazy bitch who might bite his fucking nose off. Imagine if it was that fucked up "rehab" bitch." She may have stuck the fucking mic through his head, a la celebrity deathmatch.

Since it was that pansy ass, 17-year old, 18 year old...whatever...I mean...what the fuck. Where was her dad? If I was there, and that fuck would have done that to my daughter...well...I'd have gotten plugged by Kanye's likely 100 strong entourage.

As for security...WHERE THE FUCK WAS IT? I keep pondering whether or not this was staged, and have to believe, Kanye or not, that if someone starts walking onstage that security doesn't know about, then there would at least be an attempt to stop it. There was none...makes you wonder.

Kanye likely thinks any attention to Kanye is good attention...and gee...he just so happened to be on Leno's first night...already scheduled?

C'mon...

Fuck Kanye...Fuck Leno...Fuck MTV...

You want news? Get Swift up there performing sex acts with Beyonce. Until then...shut the fuck up and play some fucking videos already.

Why the fuck does MTV even HAVE A VIDEO AWARDS SHOW ANYWAYS?

chefcraig
09-20-2009, 10:25 AM
Here we sit a week later, and I'm still going back and forth on how much of a staged event this whole thing was. On one hand, you have reports of the girl and her mother backstage in tears. On the other, you have the remarkable coincidence that the girl just happened to have a second dress to wear (that matched Beyonce's), when she was called to the stage a second time to "have her moment".

Remember all the hubbub last year with Eminem and Sasha Baron Cohen? Less than 24 hours later it got out that the whole episode was not only phony, it was rehearsed as well. Perhaps this time, MTV managed to keep a lid on what really occurred.

And what about that Leno appearance? Think of it this way: It was the premiere of a new show on NBC, one the network has pretty much sunk it's future into. Kanye's role in the show before the MTV incident was as little more than a glorified back-up singer, yelling out "Yeah!" and "Uh-huh!" wherever (or not) appropriate in Jay-Z's "song". Suddenly, West becomes not only the focus of a controversy, but the headlining guest on a show that stirred little to any interest a mere 24 hours before.

Funny how that all worked out, ya know? http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-confused-smileys-718.gif (http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/Free-Confused-Smileys/)

That was Nathaniel Hornblower. All he said was that he made up all the ideas for Star Wars. That shit was hilarious. And REM sucks.

Possibly. Alex Rodriguez might ask him to take his shoes off before entering though.
