Yet more dubious thinking from the great minds at Gibson. I shit you not. http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-ashamed-smileys-705.gif (http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/Free-Music-Smileys/)

The Baldwin Hendrix Custom Grand

One of the latest designs from renowned graphic artist Ray Bishop, who has transformed countless NHL hockey goalie masks and Gibson guitars, is appropriately named “The Hendrix.” This mind-bending Baldwin R1 Artist Grand piano features a design inspired by legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix. The design itself is based on the Jimi Hendrix Psychedelic Flying V produced by the Gibson Custom Shop in 2006, which was a painstaking recreation of Hendrix’s hand-painted 1967 Flying V. Bishop incorporated the guitar’s swirling psychedelic colors and designs into an original and stunning display that's highlighted by a full-size profile of Hendrix underneath the lid. A fitting tribute to a genuine legend.

A mid-sized grand that delivers rich, resonant sound

Measuring exactly 5'8", the Hendrix Custom Grand falls in the middle of Baldwin's size range for grand pianos. This means it will fit beautifully into almost any home. Superior craftsmanship and materials set this piano apart from Baldwin's competitors. The Hendrix features a one-piece, continuously-bent rim design constructed entirely of maple. In addition, the soundboard is made of the finest quartersawn spruce available so that you can enjoy wood with a tighter grain pattern and improved uniformity for exceptional tonal characteristics. The piano’s sharp keys are made from genuine African ebony wood with an added radius for a superior feel, and the Baldwin-engineered Renner hammers deliver world-class note-to-note clarity and consistency, while its superior action provides faster key repetition rates, in addition to an increase in dynamic tonal range. The three pedals are traditional — soft, sustain and sustenuto — and constructed from solid brass, and the fallboard utilizes a pneumatic, slow-close mechanism design.

It's ugly too. Should have been done on at least a white grand. Even if it was given to me, that would be kept in a garage until it could be scrubbed and refinished.

Jimi WAS BLACK though. Obviously they took this well-known fact into carefull consideration of an ebony-black finish.

However, they have also issued a WHITE HENDRIX model, it's only a baby grand (5 foot 1), made in Germany, and it's a player piano: the "Monica Danneman" Hendrix Edition Baldwin mixes drinks spiked with barbituates 5 times the dose required to anhillate a rhinoceros while playing "Take 5" by Dave Brubek. Except it's painted in space fantasy portraits of Hendrix..

I think it was left black to simulate a black velvet style of art.

Monica Danneman either was working for Michael Jeffrey, setting Jimi up.. or she was there before and after Michael and his boys grabbed Jimi.

Jeffrey got his own: I recall he flew privately and ditched his plane in the channel. Fuck that guy.

That is just another good point, if true, of why those sorts need to be held accountable and removed from the entertainment industry. Stand up, speak up, point them out and prosecute.

Janie Hendrix did exactly that fortunately or we wouldn't have a few gems from the tapes vault such as BBC Radio One Hendrix and South Saturn Delta.
