OK...so Adam Lambert decided to pull out all of the stops during his debut performance at the AMA's the other night.

It's a mashup of Elton John's "I'm Still Standing" video and "Caligula."

Enjoy the ghey antics of American Idol's flaming runner-up...

Your thoughts and opinions? I'm not a homophobe, nor am I against "artistic freedom."

But simulated oral sex while the kids may be watching?

Really necessary?

Obviously I don't like this style of music, but I'm not offended by this.

I think people shouldn't be so socially conservative. It looked like a girl he was 'simulating' with anyway

I think he's been working with Madonna. That looked like one of her performances.

I've never seen American Idol, so I only know this guy from a handful of clips that turn up on You Tube, but I heard he was supposed to be a ROCK singer, and the way he was screaming certainly implies that possibility. Too bad he's wasting it on bubblegum pop music.

Seriously Adam.... Freddie Mercury.... Rob Halford..... you CAN be gay and still rock, ya know?

Madonna was my first thought too.

But not Mercury or Halford.

Right now he's more of a shrieking Boy George...

He should have just come out and rocked. He has some great chops and a decent stage presence.

Remember the good old days when stuff like walking people on leashes, tongue wrestling, grinding faces into cocks, and grabbing the bikini area of some chicks panties were only done backstage??

Also, I thought I was watching Americas Funniest Videos when he fell and then rolled across the stage. :hee:

First I heard of the "guy". I too have never watched Idol and have no plans to start.
What he did was a calculated move to garner some media attention. Lame song and it felt like that song lasted 10 mins instead of the 4 mins it actual was.
Everyone who has made it big from that show is just a manufactured Pop Star!

YouTube - John Mellencamp - Pop Singer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpqaekNRc2Q)

Fucking embedding bullshit!

I agree this was an attention whore move. Big mistake for him, IMO, he didnt need it, and it made him look desperate.

I think he deserves a shot at "stardom". He has been in the business for a while and seems to have paid his dues. He has played lots of clubs and bars, etc. in and around LA/Hollywood for years.(unlike some people who have hit it big on that show). He is the real deal as far as talent goes too. BUT, his songs (if this is any indication) need some work, IMO.

I'm not so sure about that. It sounded like he was still singing when he did that drop and roll move, and at least once when he was kissing somebody.

Knowing his back story gives him some credibility but I agree after this performance and the horrible song any credibility he had is gone.

Apparantly, he found out right after the AMA show that "AOL Kids" voted him entertainer of the month. LOL. Great timing, huh? :hee:

Good Morning America cancelled his appearance which was supposed to be tomorrow morning due to his R rated performance at the AMAs. I guess they fear he is going to start humping Robin Roberts.

That maybe a draw back, the Good Morning America appearance, but look at the mileage this Attention Whore is getting out of that one performance.

I'm sure we'll have the "heartfelt" apology soon and of course the exclusive interview!

It's sad that Lambert thinks he has to go this route to garner attention. Obviously, someone is manipulating his career and rolling the dice on these "shocking" moves to try and up his "it" factor.

He is trying to spark a flame off of the Madonna flint, and it just comes off looking desperate and deliberate.

I give you the album cover, in defense of my "Boy George" comment earlier.....

Lambert has the chops, and he has the stage presence. He was in a production of "Wicked" and has done tons of stage stuff.

He doesn't need this crap to get noticed...he could actually do it on pure talent. But it seems he doesn't want to wait for it, he wants it right away and thinks this is how to do it.

He could have been another "Idol runner-up" success story, a la Clay Aiken.

Of course, at this point, Lambert makes Clay Aiken look like John Rambo..

20 years ago, he could have joined Poison and fit right in. He looks as much like a chick on that cover as they did......

Does seem like the guy can sing.

Then again, so can Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion...but they all waste their voices on schlocky pop tunes dealing with "love".

It's like someone having the chess abilities of Bobby Fischer, yet electing to utilize those abilities solely toward playing checkers.

Whats an Adam Lambert?

Hmmmmm..........let's see.

You're in England, so let's just say he's the American Susan Boyle.

The difference? Lambert has a more attractive vagina....

When I inevitabley come into power (and I will), Simon Cowell will be publicly executed for criminal actions, violence on the stage...for being a brat, refusing to act his age...for all of the decent citizens he's enraged...he can go to hell...

Thing is this faggot's songs are just no good and not catchy.

At least Madonna had substance to back up all the sexual performances on stage.

And she didn't start that way either. She was pretty tame when she started out and only when she became the biggest female pop star in the world did she begin to do the racy stuff on stage.

I agree.

BTW, as soon as GMA dropped him, the Early show picked him up and had higher ratings than GMA. LOL. And he certainly didnt apologize for anything.

He was singing an entirely different tune (a ballad) and sang very well on Letterman, I thought. And he behaved himself. :D

Just a random thought........let me preface it by saying the guy's got a good voice and range but, you look at entertainers like Sinatra or Dean Martin....they never wrote their own songs but by sheer talent alone were able to carve out an outstanding career.

When I see a guy like Lambert falling into the pop/tabloid route it makes you wonder if these guys realize that 15 mins of fame right now doesn't equate to a 20 or 30 year career. I wonder if any of these guys think in terms of "Let The Music Do The Talkin'". Parlay your recent fame into a sustained career by touring and playing small venues, building your fan base by quality song selection and by word of mouth. NOT by becoming a tabloid darling. Lose the glam image and concentrate on becoming a great entrainer.

Really, I don't know if that's possible in this day and age.

Yeah, but the biz has changed somewhat from the days of Martin and Sinatra. If Lambert isn't able to sustain a career in the music biz, he'll jump to a reality show, or host an Entertainment Tonight type show, or do a cheesy movie...all of which keep extending those supposedly finite 15 minutes. Martin and Sinatra did the same type of thing, going from music to television to movies. Not everything Martin and Sinatra ever did was some sacred nugget, either (although as a matter of personal choice I'd rather watch a Martin and Lewis movie than American Idol any fucking day of the week).

The particular avenue of entertainment for such celebrities is secondary inasmuch as it is just a vehicle to attain popularity. Lambert strikes me as someone who is interested in being famous, rather than being a serious singer or musician. Such a persons actual output is totally disposable to all but their hardcore fans, and even most of those fag hag tween girl Lambert diehards will jettison him once they grow out of their Twilight phase. He's just this years Sanjaya, who was that years Clay Aitken...etc.etc.

I didn't realize who this guy was till reading this thread, then I looked up youtube and saw what he wore, and what he did playing with Kiss on American Idol.

First thing I thought was, Wow what a corny vibrato.
Second, why is he upstaging KISS - though I felt "sure, it's all about the packaged Idoliot of course the songwriter is there to support HIM."

Third, why such a huge bustier on him in that clip? I'm convinced he's getting fat thru his recent celebrity.

I hope he gives birth to twin sixpacks. I could just see Gene and Paul designing out Adam's outfit on the greenroom table: "What kinda character can we give him"

Well, how about the Hosebag from the Planet Douchia? We'll have the costume lady stitch all these fuckin' rubber hoses all over his shoulders going down to his ass!

How right it is that the biggest star from the Idol show this side of Clay Aiken is also a fag, with the same hair stylist.
