Who is a partner on youtube here?
Not asking to reveal who, what, where....
But some information, does youtube ask everybody? Why would it be a benefit? Do they become a pain in the ass afterward? It is only useful, if you are doing the commerce. It is useful if your doing the commerce?
If they ask you is it a shoe in? If not what do they look for?

I have no clue why they would ask me to be partner on that account, if anything I shew people away on that account.

Some insight would be helpful, it is not logical.

It's just a way for YouTube to try and generate income.

If you are a partner it allows you to add adverts to your videos and they split the revenue with you.

I would guess you need to get a lot of views to make any money and it would need to be stuff that you owned the copyright to.

Looking into this it seems you can make up to $1 per thousand views.

I'll need to mention this to my pal who has quite a few videos up with 10s of thousands of views but it's not going to change your life.

And of course if you posted a Youtube that did generate
enough hits to give you some decent dollars, it would
probably be deemed innapropriate and pulled down...

So, it is still at a hobby mark.
If like thunderf00t getting a 15,000 hits a day that is $15.
An errant 1,000,000 views would be a lucky hit.
However, I have heard too much chatter about youtube's accounting.
And to my knowledge there is no audit process in place.
So it is rather like old Vegas.

Don't be alarmed, at Overture we used to cheat the accounts all the time and not get caught!

Then guess who bought them out..
