The title of your thread pretty much sums it up.

Everyone is getting the shaft from the US. It's citizens, those who bought our debt, those we invaded and bomb, those breathing the depleted uranium we scattered all over with artillery shells and bombs. Other than the occasional third world despot we are pretty much the bully going around causing trouble right now.

The main reason these women aren't being viewed as the prototypical "veteran" is because of their role in the armed forces. Although they might man the .50 during a convoy nowadays, pull guard duty, take rocket fire to their base or get caught in an IED blast, the big 3 or the "grunts" are what comes to mind when you think of a combat tour. The female medic and driver aren't considered, but they should be considered, especially in those theaters.

It's easy to understand why they would have the same issues as some of the guys when your base gets hit while your trying to sleep or whatever. Same kind of combat-related stress, or what was once referred to as the "pucker factor".
