I was listening to the radio the other day in a rental car, and an ac/dc song came on...it had like a 3 minute instrumental intro, before there was any singing. And the instrumental part was fantastic. It sounded like a newer song.

Do any of you ac/dc freaks know what song this is?

All of the songs I can think of with long instrumental intros would be their early stuff. Can't think of any recent songs that fit that description. Seems like most of the Brian Johnson era fits the 3 to 5 minute window.

But then I haven't even heard all of the Black Ice album, so I could be wrong.

Dude, that's the song.

That's fucking awesome. Now that I hear the singer again, it's clearly an older song.

One of their oldest. From their first album, released in Australia in 1974.

How cool is that ! :baaa:

They dont make em like that anymore.

That old stuff gives me chills, anyone else love "Ride On" ?
to me it almost seems a fitting last song for Bon, although
it wasnt the last he recorded with them.

i love acdc.they kick ass.

Indeed, these two examples are prime examples of how great they were
before they released Back in Black with Brian and tried to reformulate
that same formula for the last 20 years. For any young uns here, get the
AC/DC 6 pack with Bon, its up there with Sabbath and those thieves of
the Mississppi delta, (that we all love) Led Zep !!

Not dissin LZ here, Im a big fan. Just more aware of where their
blues based material was borrowed from now. Their originals
prove they had immortal greatness and should never be dismissed...

Gonnna ride on in 4 weeks to see the Young brothers in action,
back at home.... ORRRRRRRRRRIGHHHHHHHHTTTT

Closed roof stadium too....

What trips me out is how the American releases were much different from the original Australian releases, -ie- High Voltage there was the 74 Jailbreak stuff here. I can't remember what the American release of High Voltage was originally in Australia....TNT perhaps?
Anyway, the High Voltage and 74 Jailbreak stuff was my favorite. Can't beat the songs High Voltage, Long Way to the Top, Live Wire, Soul Stripper and Baby Please Don't Go.

Only two songs from the Australian High Voltage made the US/European release. The rest of them were from the TNT album.

Just as with the Beatles and the early Stones, their recorded catalog was chopped to shit by record label manipulation. When you see Marky or myself referring to the Ac/Dc 6 pack, it's the actual studio albums the band made with Bon Scott between 1974 - 1979.

With those bananas and Jack Daniels's behind him, you would expect to see Roth around. Roth seemed to aways have banana's and booze in his backstage area along with some panties, female ass, midgets, cheap sunglass, and a half of a cold pizza on the floor.
