The purpose of the war was to secure US oil interests so we can force the rest of the world to buy dollars because that is what the world's oil is traded in. The US and it's military is controlled by big oil and big oil also owns the Federal Reserve that likes to print money out of nothing and trade it to other countries for finished goods. It also can exploit markets by inflating and deflating the interest rate. Follow the money and you will find the truth.

Thom Hartmann raised an interesting point about this $33 billion figure on his show this morning...... apparently China just spent that same amount of money on a bullet train that can travel the equivalent distance from Chicago to NYC in under 3 hours.

This is China, where 25 years ago, most people still used fucking bicycles as their main form of transportation, and few people even had cars. And now they're kicking our ass when it comes to public transportation.

No he wasn't! He clearly stated he was expanding the War in Afghanistan--for better or for worse. He stated he was looking to withdraw from Iraq and focusing on the Afghan War....

Part of the problem with Iraq is the elections are coming up which will spell the end of US involvement and lead to a complete withdrawal. A lot of that is in the petty pissant Iraqi politicians and their bid to hoard Iraq's resources within their ethnic groups...but even the final withdrawal is going to cost a lot of money, as will refitting the US forces and repairing debilitated equipment (i.e. worn out tank engines, etc.)...
