I found the following article interesting ...

Madison Niche Marketing: "Facebook – the New Frontier of Human Relationship & Interaction" (http://madison-niche-marketing.com/facebook-the-new-frontier-of-human-relationship-interaction/)

I already know what Blackflag (http://www.rotharmy.com/forums/members/blackflag.html) thinks about Facebook and the like--LOL! ... But what do the rest of you think? ...

As for me, I guess I like being able to stay in touch with my old high school friends ... Not only that, but a guy I went to high school with (who was one grade younger than I was) has a really awesome Christian Rock band called "The Joe Garcia (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=730902370&ref=mf#/profile.php?v=info&ref=mf&id=730902370) Band" ... He was the band leader at our church a few years ago--until he moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota--to launch a brand new church there ...

If you're ever in the Sioux Falls, SD, area, check him out--if you don't mind listening to an incredibly talented vocalist/songwriter/guitarist/pianist performing some Christian Rock, that is! ... :)

FB is quite useful (despite Buttflap's lame assertions  ).

I've gotten reacquainted with people I lost touch with after high school, old band members, co-workers, exes, etc. Sure, occasionally people you never wanted to hear from again find you on there, but that's pretty rare.
Plus, aside from the stupid apps like "Farmville" (yeah, I'll 'fertilize your crops' for you - bring me a bucket), way less junk and random weirdos than MySpace.

Actually coordinating reunion sets with two of my old bands this summer for a charity festival I played last year in my hometown, none of which would have happened without Facebook. So, yeah, pretty useful.

Whoa, DUDE!--If you don't mind me calling you "dude", that is :) --I met some really BIG TIME "random wierdos" on MySpace ... LOL! ...

Exhibit "A": I met one "woman"--??? :umm: ???--from "Nigeria" --who wanted to send me "(US)$3.2 million dollars" in two suitcases ... I might've agreed, if she'd have given me the codes to unlock the suitcases, that is! ... LOL! ... JUST KIDDING!!!!

...

Exhibit "B": I met two other "ultra-hot women" on MySpace, each of whom e-mailed me--despite having the exact same photos on their separate Profile Pages ... Yikes!!! ...

...

Anyone else have any MySpace horror stories they'd like to share with us on this thread? ... ;)

Usually on Facebook I avoid the apps completely. Although I join a lot of groups that start with the words "I hate". :D

Well, I wish you the best and hope it's a happy ending whether you choose to accept your ex's friend request or not.

Thanks. I did. Then I picked myself up off the floor after looking at her pics. Uh, damn. Gonna keep hope alive there...;)

Chelle invited me over there, then FacepaintBook booted me off for using only my first name saying I was "running an alias" and users must include their real name upon signup.

So they booted me, screw FacepaintBook.

I call these sites "socioTard" sites, because it allows people to hide behind their computers like cowards, pretending they're rock stars and porn chicks, millionaires actors etc. as anything more glamorous than they are - but ALSO for the reason that if you can't deal with someone on the personal level, they probably are best staying out of your lives if you let 'em go.

For whatever reason sometimes life is best defined not by how many people you have connected with but how many you have dismissed.
