What is this shit have I gone back in a time machine to the 1930s?

They have that bizzare parade thing at the start again now followed by some crappy musical crap.

Sandra Bullock is to acting what Sammy Hagar is to diet products.

I swear to fuck if Anne Hathaway gets her mediocre-acting ass licked one more time by other mediocre-actresses I'm putting my boot right through the TV screen.*

Ok opening considering Steve Martin is like most rock bands.

Great from 1978 to 1988 and then pretty much shit for 20+ years... :)

Well, it's lucky that I actually know any brand other than Naf Naf.

And I only know that one because it's so ridiculous.

Naf Naf.

But those boots... eh... woah! Do you wear them at home? ;)

It sucked arse.

Are they any better this year?

now there's a big hippo on stage.

Seshmeister
03-07-2010, 10:06 PM
Hah.

I haven't seen the film but it does get a little tiresome that we get the 'despite being black I've won' speech every time.

The silliest example of it was Halle Berry.

She would have been better saying it was a victory for fatties.

The thing is that apparently they had a hell of a time finding actresses to audition for that film who were suitably fat.

i sometimes make a joke about Tom Hanks..."Academy Award winner Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies!" (or worse, Joe Vs. the Volcano) and now the joke will be "Academy Award winner Mo'nique in Phat Girls."

okay, we all gotta start somewhere, but Mo'nique is still a stereotypical "black" comedienne. this doesn't give her any credibility, not when she'll return to the lowest common denominator comedy that is her true forte.

To be honest I was unaware of her work and just assumed she was an unknown like the lead of the film.

twonabomber

not an unknown, she does the urban humor. well, maybe unknown to a lot of Caucasians.

Jaws is not a horror film...

The whole link was worse than that.

"It's been 37 years since horror was recognised in this show when the Exorcist picked up 2 Oscars"

Firstly Jaws won some Oscars in 1977. Not horror maybe as you say but in the montage.

Maybe they just meant best picture you say. Well Silence of the Lambs won 5 in 1991 including best picture and it was in the montage too.

Nerd alert but still very fucking poor Mr Oscars...

FUCK YEAH!!!

Christoph waltz got the oscar for best supporting actor!!!

Wooo-fucking-hoo!!!!!

:appl: :winner:

Sandra Bullock just got Best Actress.

The only thing I hate about her is that she has not appeared naked enough in movies.

Her husband, Jesse James, is ONE LUCKY MOTHERFUCKER!!!!

They get to go to the after-parties tonight, then go back to the hotel suite, hug, tell each other they love each other, then Jesse gets to watch as the Oscar-winning Sandra Bullock gets on her knees and SUCKS HIS FUCKING COCK!

Outside the Vanity Fair party the reporter is talking.

"There are three layers of security here and the party is impossible to gatecrash. The last time anyone managed was in 1996 when a man turned up with a pig and bluffed it was Babe."

They said it completely seriously so I'm not sure if it happened or not.

All of the awards shows, and the red carpet stuff especially makes me sick. Just a bunch of self centered millionaires stroking each others egos and being "seen". They hold themselves so much higher above any of the rest of us. I remember one time Jennifer Lopez was explaining how she studied for a part by "actually talking to the maid. The maid!". She acted as if the maid should have run home in tears of joy for being blessed. Seems to be the attitude most of these assholes have.

I'd really love to see someone knock out one of James Camerons front teeth so that for every interview he has to cgi that fucker in there. Pompous fuck.

Quote of the year!!

LMAO... but oh the irony!!

I watched a bit of it... you know it sucked big time when Robin Williams appears and doesn't even have a single one-liner just gets down to business. The best way to guage it would have been Morgan Freeman's death by boredom looks thru most of it.

Seshmeister

40 minutes of highlights would probably be watchable - Steve Martin and Baldwin had a few good lines.

Because, it is one of the few movies and series's made that isn't purposfully forced to pander to the lowest, at the same time, outside within the thoughts of the super ego elitists.

...and no I havent seen the oscars in over 10 years...hey..?? I heard Johnny Depp is in another movie and he is even more painted, lyrically, texturally and figuratively, overtley gay..whatta stretch, he is the best! If you are over the age of 13 and you need to see this movie get some help.. 15 at the oldest and perhaps the shrooms aren't such a good idea. Unless you are soon to be adding another section to your Johnny Depp collectables wing. Then I understand.

There is nothing better than a bunch of people making fiction and then making that a reason to "award thier dedication" to the creation of nothing...

Then the lamentations of the winners thanking all the people who actually provide nothing more than a 2hr escape to nowhere.

I would like to add to my disdaineful post that I guess I have a block of 1- 100 of movies that I enjoy. I am placing the top # of 100 to try and believe that there must be some allocation to others opinions and that I could be wrong....but, I have only listed not even on paper about 40 movies that are within what I like... I doubt with what is coming out these days I will live long enough to reach a completed top 100.

Whaatt a..they make about a thousand a year since 1911...?
