Why does he talk with a fucking accent now in interviews I've seen with him? I know he's a USA hater and all, but he sounds like a fucking idiot.Comment

Anyway....Depp has become an overly-pretentious wanna-be Frenchman. He's lived there for quite some time....
I think Shania Twain shacked up over there as well. It's just a matter of time before she becomes Shania Le'Twain...Originally posted by perilouspete

He is a typical two faced twit who has expatriated himself, yet comes back here to earn millions off of idiots who spend thier hard won bucks at his overtly ghey movies.
Then runs back to his "frenchie place" and converts it to euros and we never benifit from his spending to benifit the American economic base. Then he spends the next few years publically humiliating his "boss and the company that he works for" the american people.
He may be entertaining kids 10 and under with his childrens book movies and that is cool, but I have never been able to last more than a 1/2 hr watching one.
His complete assholedness is appearant in his bieng worshiped and used as the AV of The Loungei Machine Socialist (probably a frenchie too) clone twit that, POSTS HERE!Comment

Nicky...I gotta agree with you there.
He is a great actor. He'll take on anything and everything, and every time you think you have him pegged....he'll throw in another twist.
I just don't understand the whole "pick up and move to France" thing...but I will never deny or disparage his talent as an actor.
Truly an example of a young punk TV star who did it right. Is there anyone else from "21 Jump Street" who even made it close to Depp's level of international superstardom?
I don't think so...Originally posted by perilouspete

Yup, and he has made some great movies that were totally outside the mainstream.
And Gnome there is a whole big world outside your trailer park and here's a newsflash.....other countries have movies, too. Where the guy chooses to live is his own business.
He took all your hard won American dollars........go outside and get from fresh air....the glue's getting to you again.Originally posted by vandeleurE- Jesus . Playing both sides because he didnt understand the argument in the first placeComment

He's always been a very, very weird guy with his own ethos. Who the fuck knows why he does what he does. But I've got nothing against him for moving to France. Fuck, I'd love to have a shack on the Riviera...
I read an article on him in the early 1990s. He's genuinely a very quirky guy who claimed to have Tourette Syndrome, never carried a watch and was generally irresponsible, and generally had a lot of idiosyncrasies (like dating Winna Ryder )...Comment

he plays a moronic heavily made up idiot frankenstien in one movie
he plays a ""......."".......Pirate in 3 more movies
he plays a moronic....""....Mad Hatter...in another movie
need I digress anymore...Outside the mainstream...??? WTF!!!!
He is not acting he is Movie Starring as an complete ass in every flick..??
they don't even qualify as scripts
they are just ideas of how to hype a idea
There is no script no detailed acting skills needed
But, I forget, you guys dig that sort of thing so my bad...
Yeah but he does fit perfectly in those roles and if you find that interesting so be it that is why there is a place for everyone ...lolComment

There is absolutely NO excuse to move to France unless you're very badly fucked in the head. And even THAT is arguable.
Hell, even TOM CRUISE didn't move to France.
Move OUT OF or AWAY FROM France, THAT makes sense. But never TO France.
Like they say in the song "Never goin' to get to France".

Just because he lives in France makes him a US hater?
Pretty silly small minded chat. Plenty of European actors have moved the other way. Different people like different places to live. I saw an interview with him just a few weeks ago and he said that he likes France because he doesn't get recognised very often so can go to bars and grocery stores like a normal person.
Incidently tax is paid in the country it is earned so if he makes a film in Hollywood he's contributing to the US. Not to mention all the income he generates for the US by helping make US films popular elsewhere in the world.Comment

And they never, ever understand how is it possible for other people to live in THEM. It's just too weird for words.
