In order to make prescription drugs more affordable and available to all Russians, the Russian government has put price and quality controls on prescription drugs.
This is what needs to be done in the US. Americans are paying the highest prices for prescription drugs in the world. This could be taken further into other healthcare areas as well. We need price controls on healthcare, not a complete takeover of the system by the government.
Basically the utility companies are kept from price gouging the hell out of us because they are regulated. We need to do the same with healthcare. Plenty of money is made in utilities; even though, the government puts price caps on them. They have special programs available that allow the poor and needy to get cut rates on their electricity, we could do the same with healthcare. We need to treat healthcare like a utility.
