I can't tell if this guy is trying to look like Bon Scott or Freddie Mercury. He's failing at both. And I have to admit I like the Greg Rolie/Perry version of Anytime better.

Apparently this Fleischman guy wasn't even hired by the band themselves, but was something that Columbia records "insisted" on.

Never mind that Journey was somewhat of a "supergroup" in its original configuration. Schon and Rolie being original members of Santana. Ross Valory coming from the original lineup of the Steve Miller Band, and Aynsley Dunbar playing with a Hell of a lot of people by then. And Rolie had sung lead on several Santana hits, so it's not like Columbia records didn't know the guy could sing.

But they wanted the front man, for the sake of "image", and a guy sitting behind a keyboard just didn't cut it. So the suits brought in Fleischman. And eventually the band themselves discovered Perry, and the rest was history.

Until it all got ruined by that pussy Jonathan Cain, anyway.
