Yes, like so many things in life, you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone.

Back in the zeroes, every time you typed the year, you only had to either push 3 buttons, if you had the 00, or type 2 and two zeros, which meant you didn't have to move your finger & the final number.

Now, you have to move your finger around the keyboard much more.

Things were much easier back then...

NUTHIN' beats the 80s.

You could walk around in leather pants, tiger striped jacket & a pimp hat complete with feather & noone would even notice you.

Not that I'd dress like that. But I could, if I wanted to.

Not a big fan of the '90s. The early '90s was a weird transitional period from the '80s fashion/music and go getter Gordon Gekko attitude to the slacker, grunge period. The mid to late '90s had no real identity.

The 00's were terrorism, wars as the result, freedoms being taken away as a result, the destruction of the US economy and our way of life. Not a good decade.

The 80's were a lot of fun.

Everyone labels the 80's as the decade of greed. The 90's and early 00's were far more greedy than the 80's. The 80's was about dressing up and looking good, a lot of variety, living in the moment and having fun. We were getting away from the depressing Vietnam and 70's shit. The 90's were about run away greed on all levels and everything became completely corporate in a bad way.

What I remember about the 70's is shitty quality of a lot of stuff, stagnation, and an energy crises. Also horrible fashions and hair styles. It was the ugly decade of big fat ties, sideburns, carpet everywhere, hairy crotches. ect...

The 70's was a blue toilet in a bathroom with lime green shag carpeting and carpet in the kitchen. Dad cam home wearing a three piece suit, a tie as wide as a landing strip. The family car was a big boat station wagon with fake wood on the side. The refrigerator was built like a tank but had a horrible baby shit brown sunburst color scheme. The girls in Playboy all had big hairy bushes.

Let's not forget the Schwinn bicycles that weighed a ton and even if you had a 10 speed, going up hill was a bitch. Built like tanks though. Undestructable. Everything was integral. You never stripped cranks, the kick stand never fell off. You could throw it off a cliff and nothing would break.

My dread as a kid was to own one of those vans and have sex with beautiful women in the back. I remember they had van magazines that showed all the fancy custom interiors and fancy beds used to fuck you girlfriend in during lunch hour.

I loved those. We used to eat at a Chinese resturaunt that had those. I use to turn the knob and flip through the selections and push the buttons on the front just to fuck around while waiting for the food to come.

They used to have really cool signs too. Lot's of neon, flashing bulbs, some would be automated and move. That's pretty much been replaced by bland boxes full of neon tubes or a digital screen. I remember we used to eat at a place that had the big rotating sign and the neon would flash along the building and go to an arrow point at the door. The bowling alley have automatic neon where a ball would roll and scatter the pins. The Greyhound station had a neon dog that would run. Cool shit it was.

The worst thing about the 00s cuntinues.

The fact it doesn't have a proper name. Media people call the decade the noughties but I've never heard a real person call it that because it's gayer than Gary Cherone serving canapes in an assless kaftan. Now this shit goes on for another 10 years until we finally reach the 1920s and can relax.

Assuming we live that long that means we wil have a big 20 year undefinable hole in the middle of our lives.

Very fucking annoying, I wonder if people complained about this 100 years ago...

In terms of what passed for political leaders, pop culture and humanity as a whole, by and large most of what transpired in the 00s sucked big red donkey cock.

Um, remember I always take things literally - I have a van with a pile carpet that Twona and Lou and I travelled to Montreal in to see VH in 2007. Twona called it the Urban Assault Vehicle. He originally had a different name for it, but it was too suggestive so we didn't use it. There is no symbolism in this statement whatsoever.

Now ask Twona about the night we saw the UFO on the way home from the Dinosaur Barbeque.
