View Full Version : Quarter of Republicans Think Obama May Be the Anti-Christ

Americans have some extreme views of President Obama, with a new survey revealing 40 percent of adults believe he is a socialist, and about a quarter of survey participants thinking the president is a racist, anti-American and even doing things Hitler did.

The whammy: 14 percent of Americans say President Barack Obama may be the anti-Christ. When split by political party, 24 percent of Republicans and 6 percent of Democrats viewed the nation's leader in this way.

The results come from a Harris Poll involving 2,320 adults who were surveyed online between March 1 and March 8 by Harris Interactive, a market research firm.

Here's the percentage breakdown of respondents' views of President Obama:
38 percent say he wants to take away Americans' right to own guns.

32 percent say he is a Muslim.

29 percent think he wants to turn over the sovereignty of the United States
to a one world government.

29 percent think he has done many things that are unconstitutional.

27 percent say he resents America's heritage.

27 percent say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do.

25 percent say he was not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president.

25 percent say he is a domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitutions speaks of.

23 percent say he is a racist.

23 percent say he is anti-American.

23 percent say he wants to use an economic collapse or terrorist attack as an excuse to take dictatorial powers.

20 percent say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did.

When broken out by political party, results showed some stark differences. For instance, the majority of Republicans believed the president is a Muslim and a socialist, while around 40 percent believe he is a racist, someone who resents American heritage and "wants terrorists to win."

Forty percent of Republicans, compared with just 15 percent of Democrats, think Wall Street pulls his strings.

The findings lend support to a theme touted in John Avlon's new book "Wingnuts: How the Lunatic Fringe Is Hijacking America" (Beast Books, 2010).
"This poll should be a wake-up call to all Americans about the real costs of using fear and hate to pump up hyper-partisanship," Avlon said after reviewing the findings. "We are playing with dynamite by demonizing our president and dividing our country in the process. Americans need to remember the perspective that Wingnuts always forget - patriotism is more important than partisanship."

While extreme, there's a chance some respondents weren't even sure what a Muslim is, for instance. Research reported in 2008 suggested Americans have inaccurate views of Muslims: Many think the Islamic religion is associated with violence and religious extremism, and perhaps even terrorism. In addition, seven in 10 Americans in that study admitted they know very little about the Islamic religion.

:lmao: Polls are the biggest waste of time and are slanted, depending on how the question is phrased but...........

Every now and then they serve a purpose, pure comedic gold.

Sad thing is most of the mental midgets here believe exactly what the poll says.

38 percent say he wants to take away Americans' right to own guns.
How many Americans have actually lost their guns due to anything Obama has done?

32 percent say he is a Muslim.

Maybe he should of stuck with Barry as his first name, it takes at least a 4th grade education to pronounce Barack ;)

29 percent think he wants to turn over the sovereignty of the United States
to a one world government.

Funny, the guy who coined the phrase New World Order was a Bush.

29 percent think he has done many things that are unconstitutional.

Funny, the guy that pissed all over our Constitution was named Bush.

27 percent say he resents America's heritage.

The fucking guy is the definition of the American Dream.

27 percent say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do.

Well, gotta agree with that one.

25 percent say he was not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president.

With the millions of dollars the Republicans have, if there was any doubt that he wasn't an American, it would of came out day one of his Presidential run.

25 percent say he is a domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitutions speaks of.

I think they mean what the "Bible" speaks of ;)

23 percent say he is a racist.

So a reverse Freudian....he hates his mother and loves his father.

23 percent say he is anti-American.

Proving that by running for political office :umm:

23 percent say he wants to use an economic collapse or terrorist attack as an excuse to take dictatorial powers.

As opposed to Bush using 9/11 to actually do that.

20 percent say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did.

Is he burning books and hating on Jews?

I'll play a little today with you Kwame. Let's see.....I'm going to just cherry pick a few of these to spout off on.

32 percent say he is a Muslim.

He did make a "mistake" when talking to Stephanopolous about his religion. I don't know if he is or not...nor do I care.

29 percent think he has done many things that are unconstitutional.

The problem with this is he hasn't done "many things". I will say that there seem to be pieces of the health care bill that are unconstitutional.

27 percent say he resents America's heritage.

I agree with this one to a point, more so with his wife. First time she has been proud of her country would obviously mean she resented the past.

27 percent say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do.

Absolutely correct.

25 percent say he was not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president.

Aren't we done with this one yet? Sheesh.

23 percent say he is a racist.

He definitely believes in certain stereotypes. Example...Harvard law professor incident. Does this make him a racist? No. Everyone is guilty of falling into some traps of stereotyping.

20 percent say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did.

This could be said about any leader. Give speeches? Oh Noes! Hitler did that! Smoke a cigarette? Oh Noes! Hitler did that! Get crowds fired up? Oh Noes! O.o

Forty percent of Republicans, compared with just 15 percent of Democrats, think Wall Street pulls his strings.

Yes. See above

This fucking idiot Freeper just called Thom Hartmann about 10 minutes ago. His first comment was that the recent "health care" bill was "Obama's revenge for slavery", though he didn't bother to explain exactly how he arrived at that batshit crazy conclusion.

He also spouted the birther nonsense, and when Thom asked him if he believed Obama was the Antichrist, the fucking idiot actually said "Well yeah he is, it says so right in the Bible!!"

Yeah, sure it does......:lmao:

:lmao:

"Revenge for Slavery"??? When was Obama a slave?? What about his people??? Never that I know of. Maybe his wife had ancestors who were slaves....
That's my problem with the whole "Historic first Black President " hoopla. All that matters to the worshipers is that he has some tint to his skin. I say B.S. to that.
I hoped our first Black president would have at least come from the Black American Experience and the Civil Rights movement.
President Obama isn't American Black, He's African via Hawaii. He's American White .

While I'm getting groaned and being called a Racist, remember I'm agreeing with FORD that the Revenge for slavery angle is ridiculous and these people are retards.

[quote]32 percent say he is a Muslim.

So much for freedom of religion in this country.

29 percent think he wants to turn over the sovereignty of the United States to a one world government.

Ah, the Alex Jones crowd of mindless paranoid zombies. If anyone took serious stock win what Jones spews from his double-chinned hoarse mouth they'd soon realize he was saying the exact same garbage about Bush back in 2004.

27 percent say he resents America's heritage.

Well I resent America's avenues into slavery and genocide of native cultures, too.

27 percent say he does what Wall Street and the bankers tell him to do.

More Alex Jones-inspired nonsense.

25 percent say he is a domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitutions speaks of.

This one has to be coming from the gun nut lobbyists. Not that I don't believe in the Second Amendment myself (I own guns) but to think using an assault rifle to shoot at a woodpecker that might be damaging your home might be seen as being extreme in the eyes of the US Government hardly makes a President a domestic enemy.

23 percent say he is a racist.

Two words: Strom Thurmond

23 percent say he is anti-American.

Meaning he refuses to wear a flag label pin? Why the NERVE of that man!

23 percent say he wants to use an economic collapse or terrorist attack as an excuse to take dictatorial powers.

My, my, Alex Jones definitely does get around a lot these days.

20 percent say he is doing many of the things that Hitler did.

This one must stem from the speech he gave in Berlin back in the summer of 2007. Other than that has Obama been secretly strengthening the U.S. military hardware, violating treaties with other counties, or having thugs wear arm bands?

Forty percent of Republicans, compared with just 15 percent of Democrats, think Wall Street pulls his strings.

News flash: Wall street has been pulling the strings of America's government officials for over 60 years; politicians are chattel to be bought and sold for corporate and special interest. And when it comes to Obama this one makes no sense to me. How can Obama both be a puppet of greedy capitalists and be deemed a "socialists" at the same time? :umm:

It's true that Obama is not a descendant of slaves. But his wife is, and therefore, so are his children. And Obama still grew up black in a white family, so he can claim the modern version of the "black experience" if not the distant historical part.

I simply had hoped that our first President of color would have been a descendant of slaves. As an American, that would have been truly profound for me.

Obamacare fucks the middle class and the small business owner. They didn't follow the Constitution in passing it and it violates the 10th Amendment. The Rupublicans were instrumental in violating the Constitution with the Patriot Act but then the Democrats were in on that one too.

The US Dollar with hyperinflate and the US will go bankrupt. This is where we are heading. Neither Democrats nor Republicans have done anything to fix any of these serious problems. The bailouts (coverups) bought some time but Ben Bernake is running out of tricks and Obamacare will actually pull what's left of the economy down. The US Federal Government will control more of a broken corpse of a country. Much like a gang getting control over a shitty neighborhood. But then the American people let it happen, they got the government they deserved.

If Obama is the Antichrist, he has to rise up from a mortal injury of some type, and I believe also he has to proclaim himself Messiah in the Temple after the Jews rebuild it - which currently hold floorplan to a mosque.

Even if that mosque was hit with a Palestinian scud tomorrow, and Temple rebuilt, such a timeline might be ten or twenty years off..

To many football fans, Mile High Stadium was a temple. Obama gave a speech to 75,000+ at Invesco Field which was the "rebuilt" version of the Mile High Stadium temple. This is where Obama proclaimed himself the Democratic nominee and savior.

So maybe it's already happened.

I'd have to differ with that opinion... for the most part I've seen some good improvement in the US school systems. There may be some terrible schools in certain areas of large shit-hole cities. But that's not the norm across most of the nation... least not in my experience.

When THEE anti-christ actually comes along, i'm quite certain you'll be able to spot them pretty quick if you have read the bible. I'll give you a hint: It'll be the guy that EVERY right wing christian nut job flocks to as if they were Christ reborn, and they act as if they are, Christ re-born. The self appointed prophets (false of course) will drop to their knees and worship this lunatic without question.

So far the closest thing we have to that right now is Nancy Pelosi, but she's just an evil, vile, bitch, not anti-christ material at all.

Obama? He's a douche bag, doing apparently what he thinks is best in his own judgement. No different than several past Presidents who were doomed to serving only one term.

exactly how didn't they follow the constitution in passing it? near as i can tell, the procedure was 100% constitutional.

as for fucking the middle class and small businesses? any business that has less than 50 employees is not subject to the law. though, if they want to offer their employees health care (which is currenlty quite expensive for a small business) and try and compete for employees with the bigger companies, the law offers them tax credits.

as for the middle class, the vast majority of them won't be subject to a tax, and are already receiving health care, so they wouldn't pay the fee for not having it.

i'm not saying its a pefect law. it's definitely not. but it's not quite as bad as some are portraying, either...
