I saw James Montgomery at a small blues club in MA this weekend and he sounds just as good as he did 25+ years ago when I saw him at a blues festival at the Cape.

He did a bunch of his own stuff as well as some classic blues numbers. (ie Dimples, Who do you love?) and he did a cool version of Hit The Road Jack. He also did some tunes that he wrote for Junior Wells. He did some stuff I had never heard from his upcoming CD.

He looks older, his hands are getting a bit arthritic from clutching the harp all these years, but damn...he still wails on the thing!

His voice is still pretty strong too :)

Like Dave, his kicks are not as high as they used to be, but he still totally BRINGS IT!!

If you dig the blues, check him out live if you get the chance.
