View Full Version : Iran: what would you do about their nuclear program?

Iran seems bound and and determined to have a nuclear program. What would you do about it if you were Obama?

I've got a couple simple solutions, sabotage and assasinating their researchers! The key is to make it look like an accident. This will work especially if Iran has a notorious safety record with it's nuclear program.

Plus once Iran sees what happens to it's population after a nuclear accident, then they will definitely halt their program.

Starting a war with Iran will double the national debt.

Eh, I think if there is a terrorist attack in the near future, I believe that unless cooler heads prevail, we're either going nuclear or going to get involved with that shithole country, already have had a bad feeling about it, and I for one, DON'T want to go over there.

The terrorist attack will immediately be blamed on Iran and I believe that will be the straw that breaks the camels back in terms of whether or not we're a somewhat sane country.

If someone like Palin is elected to the office of POTUS (shudder at that thought), we are truly fucked in more ways than you can imagine.

We have known Iran is a problem for a long, long time. I still believe the wars in Afghanistan & Iraq were largely based on where will we be able to have military bases on either side of Iran. Circle the fucking wagons around them so to speak.

What's gonna be fucked is if we eventually go in there and it turns out there are no nukes at all. Just like Saddam, his WMD's, and all the UN resolutions he ignored.

Not much that can be done, really, short of invasion. Doubt we have the troop strength to do it, being spread as thin as we are in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I suppose we could bomb the known Iranian nuclear sites via the skies using conventional weapons/the USAF, but does anyone really want to see things go down that road? Something like that could produce events escalating too fast for anyone to control. Plus, oil prices will shoot through the roof (isn't that the one half-way positive thing about our various Middle Eastern entanglements: they act as a catalyst for helping to keep oil prices down?)

We'll just end up living with it. I mean, thank fuck none of these other countries are calling for an end to the US nuclear program, what with America being the only nation to intentionally detonate atomic weapons over a civilian area with the express intent of killing tens of thousands of people.
