Those of you here who are fans of my reviews probably know I've always been a proponent of Mr. Pibb, and more recently, the throwback Dr. Pepper.

Today I went to a restaurant that had "Boylan's" on tap, so I figured I'd try it...

Fuck Dr. Pepper. And fuck Mr. Pibb. Holy shit!

Not the first time you've said that, I'm sure.

PRO : Cane sugar, glass bottles.

CON: They don't seem to sell it anywhere outside of New York/New Jersey (so how the fuck is it in Yakima?)

Yeah, Amazon supposedly sells it, but I'm not ordering anything in glass bottles via UPS.

Finally an intelligent comment.

It's definitely around. Is there a BevMo near you, or a specialty beverage store?

It's not just the sugar, the cola flavor is unreal.

It was good but as FORD already said, I like almost any soda that's in a glass bottle and made with real sugar.

It's still just flavored simple syrup, when you get down to it.

Buttflap wont drink a cocktail, because he thinks it's unmanly, but gets a woodie over soda pop.

Jones Soda is good for the occasional refreshment.

But I dont care how good it is, I'm not going to get as excited as BF is about it. :lmao:

There's a time for soft drinks, and there's a time for hard drinks.

Mixed drinks are in an area inbetween that's ambiguous and confused, just like your sexuality.

FORD

Maybe Trader Joe's or Costco could start carrying this stuff. Costco got MexiCoke circulated throughout the entire US. Which probably prompted Pepsi & Dr. Pepper to do the right thing and release their own sugared products, though they were unfortunately only in plastic bottles (and aluminum cans)

Wasn't this stuff once considered a health drink? I'm serious, when I was a kid, the pharmacy would sell small bottles of Coca-Cola syrup for people with digestive problems and common coughs. I distinctly recall that "soda" like this initially was bought primarily at drug stores, for it's medicinal value.

:gulp:

There's a couple kinds of carbonation. For instance in beer, a natural carbonation occurs because of the fermentation process. In soda, it has to be added. Maybe people way back when wanted their soda to have the characteristics of beer? http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-confused-smileys-718.gif (http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/Free-Baby-Smileys/)

Apparently Boylan was founded by a pharmacist, believe it or not.

I don't know if it's the same with soda, but places add carbonation to water to tell it's fresh and sterile. And I like the taste of carbonated water.

Actually I'm working online with 3 other tabs, and checking in on your fascination with bottled sugar water in another....

How much did you make today?

As for getting out, we're leaving for downtown at about 6 for a stroll along the waterfront, dinner, and then we have a gig.

You'll probably be on your second six-pack by then

Hey, so were Dr. Pepper (Dr. Charles Courtice Alderton (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=7834189)) and Coca Cola (Dr. John Pemberton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Pemberton))! Pretty cool, and I guess that thing I mentioned about medicinal uses holds up.

***Maxipad Note*** I'm also not much of a soda drinker anymore. However, an ice cold one in the hot summer does do the job. Unfortunately and as I've gotten older, I just tend to stick with water.

You know, I remember it was not that difficult to release an AP
We have some rather creative types around here.
Without breaking the law or ethics,
it should not be that difficult to envision what we expect
And enforce the circumstances.

It is not unfathomable to force a march.
