I agree with you. Could do without I Don't Want To Change the World as well. Nice to see Killer of Giants in there. I don't think Shot in the Dark has ever really left the set list. It makes me wonder, though, why he would do 2 songs from an album that you can't hardly find anymore and they have pretty much tried to bury? Seems like you may spark interest in newer fans that have never heard Killer of Giants and they may want to pick up the disc.

Yeah Binnie is right. Looking back at bootlegs & setlists, Ozzy hasn't played Shot in the Dark since maybe late 1992. Ozzy always slagged the Ultimate Sin material the last 10 years or so. It also had something to do with the lawsuit from Soussan in later years.

They played it a ton (probably every show) from 86-92. After Zakk left and Joe Holmes came in it on the 95 tour it was gone. Even when Zakk came back in 98 and then again in 2001 they were playing other songs.

I was in shock when they played it (Shot) on the Kimmel show. If he really did add "Killer of Giants" I would be floored. They haven't played Killer of Giants since the 86-87 tour with Jake.

I didn't realize he had dropped Shot after 1992. I could have sworn i heard it on the Ozzmosis tour but i don't have anything to legitimately support that. I didn't see Down to Earth or Black Rain so there you go. The last time i saw Ozzy was during the Black Sab reunions at Ozzfest, 1999 i think it was. Makes me wonder even more why these are back in the set. Maybe Gus is partial to that record.

BTW a few other suprises there. I don't think they have ever jammed on Rat Salad in the Ozzy solo days. Even when Joe Holmes and the band would do a Sabbath medley in the mid/late 90s, I don't think they did that.

Fairies Wear Boots is also pretty rare. They did that one at a few of those Canadian shows in 2003 when they were playing over 2 hours with a ton of Sabbath.

SS,

This was the typical Ozzmosis set list in 1995 with Joe Holmes. Quite a few bootlegs and video out there from this era.

01. Paranoid
02. Desire
03. I Don't Know
04. Flying High Away
05. Goodbay To Romance
06. No More Tears
07. I Just Want You
08. I Don't Want To Change The World
09. Suicide Solution
10. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
11. Children Of The Grave
12. Mr. Crowley
13. War Pigs
14. Crazy Train
15. Mama, I'm Comig Home
16. Bark At The Moon

They also played Perry Mason, Iron Man & Sweet Leaf on occasions.

Until this year, I don't think that Ozzy played 'Shot....' in a looooong time.

I remember many quotes where he said the whole album was complete garbage.

The problem with Shot is that he can't sing the chorus live. It's interesting they've added Killer of Giants but it is let down too by it's chorus.

This is the problem when other people write the melodies to your songs while you lie in a stupor.

They are better than average - it's not like they're bar band musicians.

Great? Nope, not by a long way. But it's a new band, and it'll take a little time to gell. I'm really not sure why he got rid of Mike Bordin? Maybe his commitments in Faith No More took over?

Bob Daisley, who played bass on the first two solo albums by Ozzy Osbourne, says in a new interview with his web site that he has not been contacted about the 30th anniversary editions of those records being released later this year. The tracks played by Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake on both albums — 1980's "Blizzard Of Ozz" and 1981's "Diary Of A Madman" — were replaced on a previous reissue after Daisley and Kerslake sued Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over royalties.

Daisley told the web site, "Neither Lee nor I have been contacted, considered or consulted in the decision to re-release the original recordings. I haven't a clue as to what the 'bonus material' might be. As for royalties, we have not been approached for a reconciliation and have been offered and promised nothing."

Ozzy told The Pulse of Radio he was against the idea of replacing the original tracks when he found out about it. "Believe me, it wasn't my doing," he said. "I mean, I didn't know that was being done, 'cause Sharon was fighting all the legal things that were going down at the time. I said, 'What did you do that for?' And she said, 'The only way I could stop everything was if it went to that level.' And I said, 'You know what, whatever the circumstances were, I want the original thing back.' I mean, I wouldn't have done that."

The replacement tracks were played by current METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo and FAITH NO MORE drummer Mike Bordin.

Daisley says that he and Kerslake were fired because of disagreements with Sharon over a number of things, including refusing to do two shows in one day out of worry that Ozzy would blow out his voice.

Ozzy's latest solo album, "Scream" came out at the end of last month.

In other news, the Associated Press has posted the second part of its recent interview with Ozzy. The BLACK SABBATH frontman talks about "Scream", writing songs and how he keeps it real. Watch the clip below.

If that's true Ozzy is a fucking useless fucking idiot.

If that isn't true Ozzy is a fucking useless fucking idiot.

Firstly it took 8 years for him to do something about it?

Secondly is he now agreeing that his wife is a lying cunt?

Osbourne’s wife and manager, Sharon, explained the re-recordings in a press conference: “Because of Daisley and Kerslake’s abusive and unjust behaviour, Ozzy wanted to remove them from these recordings. We turned a negative into a positive by adding a fresh sound to the original albums.”

That is a heavy set list, I would have liked to have seen hellraiser in there though. I think they should switch Bark and let me hear you scream, That would be such a cool opening. Surprisingly ozzy doesnt sound too bad in that clip up top, he looks like he is having fun anyway. although i couldnt help but smile at him wandering around for a sec then shooting back to his mic stand. They are now scheduled for STURGIS, SD during the Rally. 8/12/10 I think. They should get close to 15,000 for that show.

They also have dates up for a huge European solo tour(Sept) as well as Japan(Oct). http://www.ozzy.com/us/tour

Zakk Wylde ceased being an interesting guitarist to me after No More Tears. As far as Joe Holmes was concerned, well, all I ever really heard out of him was that one song on the Beavis & Butthead soundtrack (I guess?) called "Walk On Water", and to say that song was amateurish dreck would be putting it mildly.

I still think Jake E. Lee and Randy Rhoads were Ozzy's best solo guitarists. Brad Gillis doesn't have enough heavy on "Speak of the Devil" for me to consider it doing Tony Iommi any justice, but he was a solid player and there's a few instances over that album where I get excited.

If Ozzy is going to start adding Ultimate Sin tracks to his setlist, he should add Lightning Strikes while he's at it. I don't know why Ozzy hates that album so much, as I think it's one of his best...very underrated. It's the Rodney Dangerfield of Ozzy albums.

Shot In The Dark is the weakest track on the whole album, IMO.

Still no video or audio of Killer of Giants from Italy. You would think in a crowd that big someone would have got some footage.

Next show is on Friday in FINLAND. Wonder what the set will be? Seems they have also sound checked No More Tears so that could come back. They also played Mama I'm coming home at one of the other UK shows.

One a side note I have probably ran through Ultimate Sin 2 or 3 times in the last couple of days. Still no interest to go back through the new one "Scream".

In my opinion, the Osbournes have never been great judges of talent. Remember, they fired Lee Kerslake and Bob Daisley for Tommy Aldridge and Rudy Sarzo.

They seem to be more interested in hiring players they can get away with not paying

I agree. I used to go with the thinking that Sharon was a great talent spotter but time has shown that she just got lucky a couple of times early on.

They hardly ever had to pay tiny Rudy Sarzo and he's not the smartest.

Now he is claiming he did not know the bass & drum tracks on the first two albums were replaced until it had already been done. Yeah, right.

OZZY OSBOURNE Says He Was Against Idea Of Replacing Original Tracks On 'Blizzard', 'Diary' LPs - July 7, 2010

For all intents and purposes, I believe Osbourne gave up making decisions sometime in 1979. He's always astounded when confronted by what has gone on around him, like a drunk waking from a stupor and being told how he'd embarrassed himself at a party the evening before.

Zakk's problem was that he stuck around too long, and with BLS it was a case of quantity over quality. I don't think anyone would say that the playing on 'No Rest....' and the 'Pride and Glory' records aren't impressive though, would they?

From what I remember, despite the fact that he didn't play on it, Joe Holmes wrote a sizeable chunk of 'Down To Earth' - it might be my memory playing up, mind. I actually saw him with Ozzy in the late '90s and was blown away - no frolics, just blasting out the classics. He's no RR or Jake, but he's hardly a slouch and I would have been very intrigued to hear what he sounded like with Ozzy on record....

As for Holmes work on DTE, he only had 3 songwriting credits. Even those are joint credits with other songwriters who were working on DTE. Pop guys like MArti Frederiksen and Producer Tim Palmer wrote most of the material.

1. "Gets Me Through" Ozzy Osbourne, Tim Palmer 5:04
2. "Facing Hell" Osbourne, Palmer, Scott Humphrey, Geoff Nicholls 4:26
3. "Dreamer" Osbourne, Marti Frederiksen, Mick Jones 4:45
4. "No Easy Way Out" Osbourne, Palmer 5:06
5. "That I Never Had" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Joe Holmes, Robert Trujillo 4:24
6. "You Know...(Part 1)" Osbourne, Palmer 1:06
7. "Junkie" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Holmes, Trujillo 4:28
8. "Running Out of Time" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Jones 5:06
9. "Black Illusion" Osbourne, Palmer, Nicholls, Andy Sturmer 4:12
10. "Alive" Osbourne, Danny Saber 4:54
11. "Can You Hear Them?" Osbourne, Frederiksen, Holmes, Trujillo 4:59

+1 for Jake E. Lee and RR

There's some good stuff on 'Pride & Glory', 'Book Of Shadows' (acoustic) and the first BLS record 'Sonic Boom'.

But, yes, he does suffer from 'guitar-player-goes-solo-syndrome' (i.e. piss poor songs). It's largely because - as I said above - he puts out too many records. BLS were prolific, and the quality suffered...
