Found a boot on the net - Video of him doing a gig at of all places THE PYRAMIDS in Cairo in 1979.

Wonder how many starving wretches were wondering who the fuck was singing by the Pyramids late at night with a full band and PA system? :hee:

Just figured I would rant for a moment. So I did...in the title of this thread. Got to see him at Long Beach Arena in February of 1992.
The King Of Kool.

Chairman Of The Motherfucking Board!

:lmao:

Oh GOD!

Frank introduces a song at the Pyramids show.

Right at 31:12.22 mark.

He is describing how the next song is sung from the point of view of a very sad man whose girl has left him.

He says "He is about tell his story.....cause his girl has left him....she took the Volkswagen.....and a half a gallon of very bad wine.....and she left him an ounce of grass with no papers and no matches....that is disastrous....."

:lmao:

So he fires up a cigarette and goes into a couple of songs as a medley.

Thing is....he was performing for the Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, and HE was a NOTORIOUS POTHEAD, lol.

Nope. I don't have broadband at home, and cannot upload from work, as the total is like 3.5GB in .vob DVD files.

BUT.....how about I just post the same links to the files that I used? :D

Heh....someone is sharing stuff by everyone everywhere, lol.

I got a 65-minute black and white video yesterday of Frank, Dean and Sammy (The three principal members of The Rat Pack) at the Sands in Las Vegas in December 1962.
Have not watched it yet, as the audio was buried under tape hiss, on the left channel only, so I had to remaster it.

Will watch it in the next day or so. Sammy was (in a lovable way as part of 'comedy') the butt of a lot of racist humour. At one point, Dean announced to the audience "Ok everyone, put your sheets on and the meeting will begin".
Another comedy bit I have seen is where Dean picks Sammy up and says "I'd like to thank the NAACP for this award.....".

Stuff that would be totally unacceptable these days.

Let it be known, though, that neither Frank, nor Dean were racists at all. As a matter of fact, it was Frank who helped Sammy get his start back in the early 50s, and at one point he forced the racist owner of the Copacabana in
New York City to book Sammy, who brought the house down every time he performed. Frank hated racism, even though he told racist jokes during Rat Pack comedy routines with Sammy. However, their comedy bits, regardless of subject matter, are fucking hilarious.
