Which legacy was that, the underage girl-doing part, or the preachy neocon jackass part? DJ's right, he like you, needs to STFU.

Yeah... the solo to Wang Dang Sweet Poontang at the age of 14...

Nugent is good within the limitations of the 1970s American hard rock context.

Not really a slam, as it's not a bad context to be thought of as good in, but he wouldn't make my top 100 fave guitarists list.

Spinster! If fifteen wasn't the cusp of the Golden Age of Childbearing, Jesus Christ himself wouldn't have been born now, would he?

Mine neither, but in 1976 he was pretty up there in the A-list realm of guitar rock radio.

Even his run-maufing can't take that accomplishment away from him.

Say what you will about his politics , social opinions , etc. Ted Nugent is one hell of a guitarist and one hell of a showman .

" Stranglehold " is an epic musical masterpiece . An absolute sonic skullcrusher .

Even his run-maufing can't take that accomplishment away from him.

He had his year at the top of the American rock heap 30-odd years ago, no doubt.

His politics to one side, his music and image never did that much for me.

That underage Hawaiian chick he was schtupping back in the day was a hot underage bit of ass, though.

I had a young physics professor who was popular among us students because he had a mint 68 les paul he'd loan out to beginners in our class if he liked them - they weren't worth 12 grand back then - but I recall one day we kids asked him "hey what about Ted Nugent." One guy had just gotten that album he's in a loincloth and a couple guitar necks sprouting from his arms, looked pretty cool.

So Ted Nugent must be cool, right? "Ted are you kidding me - that guy's the worst" he says, we were crestfallen.

How could the Cat Scratch Fever be described as "the worst" by your favorite teach, when you admire both men? That experience taught showed me that although you're admired it doesn't mean you're any good.

But the reverse of that is also true "just because you're any good doesn't make you admirable" suich as the case is with EVH. Right?

Can't beat having your own major-label album with you on the cover, half-naked, screaming bugeyed like you're out of your mind: that's an all-time best cover right there.

That album cover would be Scream Dream featuring the almighty Wango Tango . Obnoxious as hell ! I love that album !
