I don't mean to attack a certain person, but personally, I've stayed out of the library squatting issue long enough. I know a librarian and she knows with cut hours, how much more difficult it is for those that want to use the internet to do a job search to make an honest contribution to society.
If you choose not to seek employment, that's your choice. But please surrender the internet to someone who does wish to perform job searches with it, especially since it's government funding.

This individual must be extremely lucky. If you were posting a message board at a certain library down here and someone else informed a librarian that they wanted to use the computer for a job search, YOU'D BE KICKED OFF IMMEDIATELY.

Again, my personal belief is that job searches take precedence over the tons of message boards across the net. It's called "prioritizing" , http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/prioritizing

If it is such a big issue, they should have computers at the library that are for job searches only.

There are many other things unemployed people need to do online besides look for a job. They may have health issues or legal problems they need help with, etc.

Not all libraries are 100% government funded. They get money from private cuntributions as well as the money from over-due book fines and even parking tickets. I know our town does a huge fund raiser every year for the library. Here, a local (large) computer company donates all the computers as well as tech support. The library only pays the internet fee, which is discounted by the local cable company.

A friend of mine is the Head librarian and she makes a six digit income and 3 times what most teacher make!! I love her to death, and she is highly educated, but seriously?? WTF?

Anyway, even unemployed people are allowed hobbies and if they can not afford a computer and/or internet at home because they are not currently working, it is OK in my book if they hang out at the library and plug in for an hour or so. It's a great stress reliever for most people.

Others will have to wait their turn, or go to the unemployment office and use those computers FREE OF CHARGE.

You don't know whether he posts from the library or not, or whether he works, and it's not your call to tell someone how to live their life. Maybe he works in the shower room at the pool.
