Watching Bill Oreilly tonight. He was talking with the leader of the NAACP Washington division. Anyways, the NAACP has set up a website teapartytracker.org to basically keep an eye on the Tea Party events to point out & chastise any racism that happens. All the guy from the NAACP could point to since April (the date when the Tea Party sent an official correspondence to the NAACP repudiating all racism, bigotry, etc...) was this 1 guy wearing this "offensive" t-shirt.

I don't see this shirt as racist, but more a statement of facts*. Yeah, the guy is trying to push peoples buttons by wearing it. I wouldn't have worn, nor condoned the wearing of it...just due to it obviously being intended to agitate the opposite side. But racist shirt? I don't see it that way. I think if people have a real problem with what is on this guys shirt, they need to address the issues on this guys shirt. Not the guy wearing it, or especially not the organizations' event he was attending.

Anyways...just curious of other peoples thoughts on the shirt. So far I only have the NAACP's view on it.

I think my main problem with the whole thing is the blaming of the Tea Party due to 1 guys t-shirt at 1 event. No organization can be expected to enforce dress codes for rallies and monitor every single person that attends

I don't see this shirt as racist, but more a statement of facts*.

It is derogatory. I wouldn't wear it unless a black man gets in my face, and asks for reparations because some of our ancestors owned slaves back in the 1800's. But my shirt would also say my irish ancestors were slaves.

The problem is it looks like he's trying to justify slavery. With no context it's easy to say the guy supports slavery or he is a racist. But I would rather dig deeper and understand why he is wearing it -- is it in response to somebody's statement?

I saw it more as he was saying blacks are just as much at fault for slavery as whites are....not that he is justifying it. And perhaps blacks may be more culpable because in parts of the world they still have slavery, while whites have abolished it.

But what the fuck do I know? I swear to God until I read that shirt, I had never heard of Mauritania. After I looked it up I realized his shirt had it spelled wrong.

And, since I was invoked by that Louisiana nurse-bitch...

The shirt is only racist in that it makes ignorant white people stupid since they can't fucking spell a country they're trying to make a point about. I mean, really? I mean, if you're going to be a high and mighty and shit and call out African nations for slavery, at least:

a.) know how to spell them

b.) vaguely know where the fuck they are located (unlike Sarah Palin)

c.) have some sort of point that other than blacks are evil slave-traders too, so it was okay to perpetuate the slave trade far later than most other Western industrialized nations did...

But yeah, tyranny and cult-of-personality fascist looters know no skin color...

I dont think its racist, its the goddamn truth. but that guy doesnt belong at that rally, he should be at some black panther rally and wip that baby out when some racist black is spewing his hate speech towards whites and how whites enslaved his people for 300 years.

That guy is tired of blacks using the race card, hes tired of white america carrying the full burden of slavery and running into a brick wall every time there is a debate with or about a black.

I watched that orielly show when that naacp guy was on there. i cant stand watching those racist bastards on tv, the level of deceite is astronomical the way they sidestep questions. the naacp should be outlawed, biggest racists organization on the planet.

The English and the Dutch.

They are the ones who instituted slavery in the New World.

It took us awhile, but White Americans are the ones who eventually ended slavery.

Let us not forget also that the ancestry of the plantation/slave owners in the Rebel South were in large part Dutch, English, Irish, and Scottish.

Therefore we can blame Sesh's and the Van Halen ancestors.

OK. I admit "crooked" was probably the wrong terminology. Go figure...who would expect me to fail at word usage? LOL

Anyways, what I mean is that in California, they are not required to state payout percentages. In Las Vegas every single casino is regulated very closely and made sure that they are publishing correct payout percentages.

To be honest, I tend not to discuss it all that much as the designation is both a blessing and a curse. Ever since Dances With Wolves came out, people have been coming out of the woodwork with genuine and dubious claims of ancestry. For the most part, this is quite a positive and endearing thing for people to do, yet every so often you'll get some goofball like ace dingbat making noises about his heritage, and the proceeding embarrassment promptly shoots the entire enterprise right in the foot.

The slave traders in Africa were black. The Europeans just bought them at the slave auctions on the coast but the whole distribution system to the coast was ran by black Africans. They never tell you this fact. Not that I'm condoning what the British, French, Portuguese and Spanish did to get cheap labor to run their American plantations.

Things have not changed so much. When your competition is using slaves you have to as well. Now days we just import the finish goods or agricultural products made and grown by slaves from corporate contracted sweat shops and plantations. I might add some factories in China sell their underage workers into prostitution if they don't tow the line. There still is plenty of slavery just below the surface.

But look who the shoe companies have as the faces of their product. Black athletes & rappers. Michael Jordan did more for the athletic shoe than anyone. Michael Jordan - a black man who made hundreds of millions from hocking the product of sweat shop slaves.
