Ed got married and the wife riddled him with guilt. Ed and his brother thought the band circled around them.

I remember the day I heard it, I thought it was a joke, the darkness fell over the band, then Shammy Fagar was announced as the singer, I about shit.

Killer clip...

One that I had never heard...

That's gotta be Ed's longest and most interesting solo ever recorded...

The solo was broken into two parts by the Youtube poster (zachvanhalen (http://www.youtube.com/user/zackvanhalen)). Here is the rest of it.

I think 84 is when he used to flip his guitar up so he could tap it with both hands. The guy's obviously workin' his ass off.
It's from the Swedish hotties in the crowd. :)

Yeah he had the little stand on the back of the guitar so he could lay it flat.

Check this out: It's the patent Ed filed for the support device.

Patent No. 4,656,917: Eddie Van Halen's Guitar Support (http://www.loweringthebar.net/2010/08/patent-no-4656917-eddie-van-halens-guitar-support.html)

Because Ed's ability to interact with other human beings was inversely proportional to his ability on guitar.

This isn't his longest solo, not by a long shot. He did a stretch in the middle of the 1984 US tour leg where his solo's were at least 18-19 minutes long. Check out his solo from Indianapolis on 7/6/1984

Was talkin to a dude today, he was sayin the solo @ the Hamilton show on the Velveetapalooza tour was 45 minutes of Ed gakked out of his mind rolling around on the floor and unintelligible noodling....

"Velveetapalooza"
I believe it is a reference to the 2004 Spammy reunion tour.

"Velveetapalooza™" - brought to you by the same brilliant mind who gave you the names "Ched Rocker™", "Sheep™" and "Pasture Dump™" among others.

Modesty prevents me from naming that brilliant mind, of course......
