Muschamp is the DC at Texas...and was an SEC boy. He grew up in Gainesville, went to Georgia, and coached at Auburn.

Muschamp was named next in line at Texas...and is a solid candidate. While I have questions about Muschamp's credentials, you have to appreciate Florida's search process.

They targeted the guy they want...and bam...get him. Quick, painless, and prior to recruiting. Muschamp is a solid recruiter, so they shouldn't miss the boat...

Now...should they have hired a guy that has no prior head coaching experience at a University like Florida?

We shall see.

The interesting twist is that Texas just shitcanned their offensive coordinator, so they are starting from scratch. Rumor has it that Major Applewhite will move into the OC role, and likely becomes the head coach in waiting...should he prove to be worth a damn...

Say what you will, but two high profile programs are now looking for coaches here. I thought Mullen would be perfect, but ESPN says he's out of the picture. And who knows what UM is planning. Millions for a coach, nothing on a practice facility and a home field that is thirty miles away. Yeah, that looks attractive.
