Ah, I remember that tune. I have sisters and their rooms were adjacent to mine in the 80's. So you got Van Halen & Def Leppard blaring from my room while Berlin, Duran Duran, Culture Club from my older sisters room, and Tiffany & "Lovergirl" from lil sis's room.

And somehow mom kept her sanity. I wonder if my mom took a lot of valium in the early 80's. Either that or she was smoking the pot that kept getting confiscated from us.

Sorry to hear about this lady. 54? sheesh. At that age you should be starting to really relax & enjoy the fruits of a lifetime of work. Not dying. Very sad indeed. Stories like this make me angry at EVH for squandering so much time.

She was actually quite a funky lady as well as a great rhythm guitarist.

She also got some kind of music legislation passed to help stop Motown from screwing their artists as bad.

Portuguese Love was an early hit of hers. A guy I was in a band with was into her when Starchild album came out. A true talent.

Not best song and album though.

"Robbery" was considered her finest in my opinion as well as "Emerald City."
