And yes, Hendrix played in his band in Vancouver for a brief spell in the 1964-65 time frame. I asked him about it myself. No details, just asked him when I first met him "Is it true Hendrix played in your band in Vancouver in the early 60s?"

He said "Yeah, man. You play?"

I said I did, and he signed an 8 X 10 to me that said "Keep picking!".

What surprised me when I saw Cheech and Chong a couple of years back in Atlanta, was how good a guitarist Cheech was.
