Scary shit indeed. I once had a sheet of plywood fly off the top of a flatbed lumber/plywood transport truck at me from the opposite direction on the highway. I slowed my pickup truck up so I could time it to hit the front grill instead of impaling me through the front windshield .
It hit the grill perfectly vertical at the same moment I ducked myself sideways down to avoid possibly being decapitated... Talk about shot nerves!

That same shit once happened to my brother (his name is not Pete). Some fuckin' arsehole with a load of iron of whatchamacallits hadn't tied them down properly, pierced the fucking windshield & stuck to the back of the car, right in the middle. He had a passenger with him. Slightly to one side & somebody could've been killed.

So, for all you "it's fine, it won't fall, it's just a short trip" arseholes out there... FUCK YOU!

Cheers! :bottle:

I seen the aftermath of a semi trailer that was carrying rolls of aluminum that had slammed on his breaks at the foot of 74 bridge. The rolls went thru the cab of the truck and squashed the driver. It didnt look pretty.

My wife was driving on interstate 65 heading toward Tenn when the Semi in front of her lost it's rear axle, tires and all. The axle bounced, she swerved into the passing lane without even looking to avoid it, which she did, but the van behind her wasn't so lucky. Both of my daughters were in the car at the time as well.
