BELGRADE, May 26 (Reuters) - Serbian police have arrested a man suspected to be the wanted war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic, an Interior Ministry official said on Thursday.

"He has some physical features of Mladic. We are analysing his DNA now," the official said on condition of anonymity. The man was arrested in Serbia on an anonymous tip, he said.

Serbia must arrest Mladic, sought by the U.N. war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for genocide during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war, if it wants to join the European Union.

With all the natural resources they have there they are better off staying out of the EU. The EU is broke anyways and the only thing keeping it going is Germany and the Germans are tired of supporting the failed experiment.

The EU has become such a joke Libya started selling their oil to China because Kaddafi wanted to tie his boat to a customer with wealth instead of Euro funny money. It pissed off Italy and France and guess what, NATO came in out of desperation.

NATO=Save northern Africa oil resources from China. If they really cared about Kaddafi's bad behavior they would have gotten rid of him a long time ago. As long as Kaddafi sold oil to Europe at an acceptable price, he was forgiven of his sins.

Um, Libya was actually selling most of its oil to Europe IIRC....

This is good news...there were some serious massacres going on in former Yugoslavia back in the 90's. Sarajevo is a chilling place to visit...

Ireland is having problems, but they're not really broke. They could raise their very low corporate tax rates. But then, that's why so many entities have est. themselves in Eire to begin with...

What amazed me at the time--and still does--are these ancient Balkan death feuds that make it seem as events that happened 400 years ago like they took place a couple of weeks prior...

Germany can't afford for the euro to fail because the mark would be so valuable they wouldn't be able to export anything.

Difficult times indeed, we need to seize the assets of every one of these traders and bankers worldwide who put us in this position and put the billions into a hardship fund.

That's the power of an ethnic identity and a troubled history. Taking undergraduates through these kind of issues is always the most rewarding precisely because it is so foreign to them - living in the UK, which doesn't having a troubled history, it is interesting to see them begin to analyze cultures in which the past is still very much present (rather than just a hobby).
