My wife is thinking of getting me a Kindle for Father's Day.

Anyone have one and what do you think of it?

The iPad has more bells and whistles to it and is more expensive. Though I'm a big fan of Apple so I'm sure it's built like a tank. :)

Here's a good read: Kindle vs. ipad vs. Nook color (http://www.abc15.com/dpp/money/consumer/data_doctor/ipad2-vs-kindle-vs-nook-color%3A-which-should-you-buy)

I really like the Kindle.
When you put a leather "holder" on it, it is very much like reading a book.
It is light weight and it reads very well.
It really is like reading a book.
The eye fatigue of reading a book off a computer screen ( i.e. the Ipad) to me would get annoying.
I have not seen a Nook.
I am not one to spend money on trendy gadgets or gadgets just to be having "stuff".
The Kindle is useful, works well, and can carry massive amount of "books".
IMO, all textbooks should be issued through a Kindle and a Kindle should be issued at the beginning of the school year instead of traditional textbooks.
It is pretty freaking awesome.
If you want something that works, works well, and does what it is supposed to do, get a Kindle.
